Police say slain guard opened door for killer

WASHINGTON — The security guard slain in the attack at the Holocaust Memorial Museum opened the door for the suspect, apparently believing that 88-year-old James Wenneker von Brunn needed assistance and unaware that the self-proclaimed white supremacist was carrying a rifle, law enforcement officials said today.

In a horrifying flash of gunfire captured by museum surveillance cameras, Stephen Tyrone Johns, 39, was shot once in the upper chest and died later at George Washington University Hospital. Von Brunn, meanwhile, was critically wounded when two other guards returned fire, striking the suspect in the face. A .22-caliber rifle was found laying next to him.

Security Officer Johns last act in life was an act of kindness...and saddest of all...to the man who would kill him. This world of ours is so cruel. This sinister, hateful old man lived to push 90 so he could kill an innocent human being. Thirty years ago, he tried to shoot up the federal reserve, and just a few days ago he was a free man. If he a been a "brown" guy he would have been labeled a terrorist and whisked away without due process. But white people can't be terrorists, right?. The 1990s sure proved that.

The waste of flesh better awake from the coma, just so he has to deal with the agony of having a huge hole in his face. Hope they have an open casket if he does die though, would be nice if someone used the gunshot wound as a cupholder.
