APTORONTO (AP) — A federal judge has ordered the government to repatriate a man with suspected links to al-Qaida,
who has been living in the lobby of the Canadian embassy in Sudan for the past year.Justice Russel Zinn said Thursday the government breached Abousfian Abdelrazik's constitutional rights by not allowing him to return to Canada.
Abdelrazik, a Canadian with family in Montreal, was arrested but not charged during a 2003 visit to Sudan to see his ill mother.
He says the Canadian spy agency and FBI officers interrogated him over alleged terrorist links.
Abdelrazik denies any involvement in extremism.
The Canadian police say there is no information linking him to criminal activities.
