TennesseanThe family of Patrick Lee is left with more questions than answers now that a federal jury has absolved Metro officers of blame in his 2005 death.
If it wasn't the Taser strikes — anywhere from three to 19 times — that killed him, Lee's parents are left to ask what did.
"We don't have an answer to why he died," said Joseph Bednarz Sr., who represented the parents, Bud Lee and Cindy Lundman. "It's still our contention that it was the strikes of the Taser and restraint procedures."
Patrick Lee, 21, was subdued with stuns from a Taser, pepper spray and batons outside the Mercy Lounge nightclub after he acted strangely and resisted arrest. Lee was under the influence of LSD and stripped off all of his clothes during the scuffle with police.
He stopped breathing at the scene shortly after he was pinned by a police officer, according to the lawsuit. He died two days later.
