9-11 Report Questions Rice's Statements
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20030728/ap_on_go_pr_wh/intelligence_rice_4

WASHINGTON - The congressional report on pre-Sept. 11 intelligence calls into question answers that National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice (news - web sites) gave the public last year about the White House's knowledge of terrorism threats.

It's a fresh credibility issue for the adviser whose remarks about prewar Iraq (news - web sites) information also have been questioned by members of Congress.

Bush's adviser told the public in May 2002 that a pre-Sept. 11 intelligence briefing for the president on terrorism contained only a general warning of threats and largely historical information, not specific plots.

But the authors of the congressional report, released last week, stated the briefing given to the president a month before the suicide hijackings included recent intelligence that al-Qaida was planning to send operatives into the United States to carry out an attack using high explosives.

1. More evidence that Rice will resign. I still say around August 1st.
And this coming from a completely different direction than the criticism she faces over the uranium lie. I wouldn't even be surprised if the White House is secretly behind this story, or leaks to prompt the story. It would allow them to disperse her guilt across a number of issues, thus making the Iraq/WMD lies seem not as serious ("well, she didn't just resign over that") and making the White House seem less guilty.

They know she has to go. They're just mulling over how best to do it. I say she'll resign voluntarily (and that is key) because she "feels responsibility for making the president look bad and making people doubt him".

3. When they start scapegoating and turning on their own, ...
they think that's going to make everything all right. But it's just going into another round of the death spiral.

5. They are all a bunch of liars, and each will lie to protect him/herself,
so when Condi gets booted out, she may actually start telling the truth about all the liars left behind. This could get very nasty.

6. Deep within the bowels of the intelligence community...
Condi's lies led many sheeple down the yellow-cake road, but now she seems to be heading down a new career path, deep in the bowels of Texas.

Ashcroft Flying High

WASHINGTON, July 26, 2001

(CBS) Fishing rod in hand, Attorney General John Ashcroft left on a weekend trip to Missouri Thursday afternoon aboard a chartered government jet, reports CBS News Correspondent Jim Stewart.

In response to inquiries from CBS News over why Ashcroft was traveling exclusively by leased jet aircraft instead of commercial airlines, the Justice Department cited what it called a "threat assessment" by the FBI, and said Ashcroft has been advised to travel only by private jet for the remainder of his term.

"There was a threat assessment and there are guidelines. He is acting under the guidelines," an FBI spokesman said. Neither the FBI nor the Justice Department, however, would identify what the threat was, when it was detected or who made it.

What threat? Excuse my chronic ignorance, but this seems important. Has this been addressed by anyone anywhere?

12. this is routinely ignored by all media
- I don't know when you started really watching this administration and its actions - but there are those of us out here that have watched this entire mess explode - we are waiting and trying to find ways to get this and all other necessary information into the mainstream -

I can only say that on the morning of 9/11, I was certain that our goverment had somehow played a major role in the disaster.

14. here's another "coincidence"
http://www.msnbc.com/news/629606.asp?cp1=1

(excerpt - a little more than 3/4ths down the page)

Three weeks ago there was another warning that a terrorist strike might be imminent. But there was no mention of where. On Sept. 10, NEWSWEEK has learned, a group of top Pentagon officials suddenly canceled travel plans for the next morning, apparently because of security concerns.

9. Mz.Condi will benefit from the BFEE which "Protects it's Own"
so don't jump for joy over her demise which will only be her "profit."

That whole nest of vipers needs to be brought up on criminal/treason charges........but it's going to take a long time for it all to come out. I hear she really "likes" expensive jewelry......maybe some diamond encrusted handcuffs in a few years would suit her style.....until then.....she will have plenty of money to hit Tiffany's to spend her ill-gotten gains.

UGH!! Liars all!

17. Down in the bowels, indeed
The desk of her second in command isn't exactly "down in the bowels" of the intelligence community. I love the way the CIA's report on the unreliability of the Niger uranium claim supposedly stops just short of her desk. It seems that she's constantly claiming to be out of the loop on intelligence matters. Either she's lying or her job as National Security Advisor is just for show--sort of like the current Presidency--while someone else is doing the heavy lifting. Not that THAT person is doing a much better job.

18. The report "questions" Rice's statements?
Only if by "question" you mean "contradict." The report says one thing; Rice's statements said something else entirely, and they can't both be true. So, either the report is a pack of lies, or the National Security Adviser can't distinguish truth from fiction. Or I suppose they could both be wrong, too.

In any event, why aren't the media talking heads on this? I seem to recall that back at the end of 1998, they seemed to put such a high premium on telling the truth that they were willing to go along with the impeachment of the President over whether he was telling the truth about a tawdry little affair.

But the deaths of thousands doesn't compare to a middle-aged man getting a blow job from an early 20s bimbo, does it?
