1. I am having trouble separating the reports.
Does this mean 5 soldiers dead today. Three earlier and now two from the most recent attack. One death is too many, but this is getting way out of hand.

3. No: Two dead total today is all CentCom will confirm
One dead in the Baghdad grenade attack. One dead in a vehicle accident near Nasiriyah. If MSNBC is reporting, there is probably one additional dead soldier as a result of the grenade attack this morning. So, three total.

As far as the AFP article, I don't know where they are getting "two separate attacks," since only one attack has been acknowledged or reported by anybody else (that is, the baghdad grenade overpass attack).

CentCom has not confirmed a second death from that attack.

Two U.S. Soldiers Killed in Iraq

BAGHDAD, Iraq - The military reported the deaths of two U.S. soldiers in separate attacks Monday in a continuing upsurge of violence against the American occupation force.
The deaths brought to 50 the number of soldiers killed in a guerrilla war since May 1, when U.S. President George W. Bush (news - web sites) declared an end to major combat in Iraq (news - web sites). In all, 165 U.S. soldiers have died in combat in Iraq, 18 more than were killed in the 1991 Gulf War (news - web sites).

Which refers to the incidents discussed in these threats (your link leads to a dupe)

8. They still think they can keep the number down by
classifying deaths as combat/non combat. The number of combat dead is growing too fast for even the most thick headed freeper not to have doubts now. Myself, dead is dead, it doesn't matter if someone tossed a grenade or your hummer rolled over. If it wasn't for lil georgie* we wouldn't be there in the first place lay the blame squarely at his feet.
