Local news reporting that the Coast Guard has found a capsized boat in the Gulf of Mexico.

They have been searching for two days for 4 football players who went missing Saturday while on a fishing trip.

There is a report of one person clinging to the side.

They had lifejackets and flares on board. Hopefully the lifejackets are in use.

Coast Guard Finds Capsized Boat, 1 Person In Gulf

The U.S. Coast Guard has found a capsized boat in the Gulf of Mexico with one person clinging on to it.

It's unknown at this time what condition the person is in or whether it's the fishing boat reported missing with two former NFL players and two former University of South Florida players.

The boat was found about 40 miles west of Johns Pass.

CLEARWATER - The Coast Guard has rescued one person from an overturned boat in the Gulf of Mexico, but officials would not confirm it's the boat carrying the missing players.

Detriot Lions free-agent defensive end Corey Smith, Oakland Raiders linebacker Marquis Cooper and former USF players Will Bleakley and Nick Schuyler all left in Cooper's boat from the Seminole Boat Ramp in Clearwater at 6:30 on Saturday morning, and haven't been seen since.

Nick Schuyler's family told FOX News Nick was found clinging to the boat about 30 miles off shore. FOX News also reports the other three men were wearing life jackets, and the Coast Guard is searching for them.

The Coast Guard has scheduled a news conference for 3 p.m.

10. Tampa General Hospital just confirmed that the found boater IS one of the men

from the lost party.

They say one is alive but don't say the status of the other one. He is reported to still be in the water.
