Source: Star-Tribune

Gov. Tim Pawlenty this morning unveiled a list of 60 transportation projects in outstate Minnesota worth an estimated $180 million that will be financed by money from the federal stimulus bill.

Minnesota is expected to receive more than $596 million for state and local highway and transit projects over the next two years as a result of the federal legislation.

...snip...

Pawlenty has consistently criticized the stimulus package as unfocused and unsustainable because it will increase the national debt. He has said it should have been more tightly targeted on tax cuts and infrastructure projects.

...snip...

DFLers quickly pounced on Pawlenty's comments, criticizing him for his past positions on infrastructure spending.

1. In "outstate" projects. What about Minneapolis and the other cities? the pukes are so
blatant in their hatred of anything that might benefit a Democrat.

2. Good. Our roads really get beat up here by the weather and there's way too many potholes.
It's a nightmare this time of year.

5. Not only that but after the spending is over we actually have something
Republicans over the last eight years have spent more than all 42 previous Administration combined and not a single thing to show for all that spending. Not a single new hospital or bridge or airport or nothing. Not a thing the American people can point to and be proud. I guess we can point to all the destruction we have caused around the world but I favor Construction over Destruction myself..

4. Pawlenty's Bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down...
What an ass. He's got bridges falling down and killing people and he bitches about money. He's like Louisiana and the levees and they don't fix. They look the other way until it's too late.

6. Is this the SAME Gov. Pawlenty who trashed the stim Sunday morning?
The same guy who tsk-tsked about the waste of money ... money he said was "borrowed from China"? (Like this is a new concept or something never before done in the previous administration?)

Wow. Who knew? Glad he stands up for those principles of his at all times!

9. Jobs jobs jobs.
Those are good jobs working for the state on the roads. And it's work you don't have to apologize for later.
