Ex-Atty. Gen. Mukasey joins NYC law firm
Source: business week

Former Attorney General Michael Mukasey has joined a prestigious Manhattan law firm as a litigation partner, returning to the city where he rose to prominence as a federal judge during nearly two decades on the bench.

Mukasey, 67, said in an interview Tuesday that he joined Debevoise & Plimpton LLP because it is "one of the most highly regarded law firms in the world," because of its pro bono work, and because its people "practice law at a high level of ethics and competence."

Mukasey said he will start officially on Feb. 23. He said his practice will focus on complex internal corporate investigations and governance, independent board reviews and monitorships.

At the firm, Mukasey will join Mary Jo White, former U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York and chair of Debevoise's litigation department.

2. "practice law at a high level of ethics and competence."
How does this apply to him, he doesn't have ethics and it can't be a sign of competence when you tell the ABA that just "because you break the law does not mean you committed a crime", or words to that effect?

The law firm and ask them why they hired someone who doesn't know law?
