Al Qaeda webcast calls for attacks on Britain
Source: Reuters

DUBAI (Reuters) - A prominent leader of al Qaeda called for attacks in Western countries particularly Britain in retaliation for Israel's offensive in Gaza, arguing that London was behind the creation of the Jewish state.

"It's high time that this criminal country, I mean Britain, paid the price of its historic crime," Abu Yahya al-Libi said in a video posted on an Islamist website.

"There is no child who dies in Palestine ... without this being the outcome of the (country) that handed Palestine to the Jews ... Britain."

Libi, whose group was behind deadly attacks in Britain in 2005, is one of the top leaders of al Qaeda believed to be hiding in the border area between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Does that mean we can bomb Italy for the creation of the Roman Empire and the subsequent occupation of Britain?

AQ sound a bit like Rush Limbaugh these days, still full of rubbish to spout but with an ever-diminishing audience..

13. Catechism time.
Q: What's the difference between al Quaeda and Rush Limbaugh?
A: Rush Limbaugh is real.

I think there's a rogue part of our intelligence agencies still in place and President Obama needs to find, and remove it soon.

That anytime any American made an off color post about Bush on the net they'd have the Secret Service at their door before they hit the "submit thread" button but Al-Qaida can run a network of websites bigger than the porn industry and we can't seem to find one of their webmasters.

9. Yep, running a web site requires persistence,
and persistence can be traced geographically.

10. It seems clear that intelligence agencies allow these sites to persist,

because, they say, they provide a means to monitor 'radical islamicist' movements.

It seems reasonable to suppose that at the aforesaid intelligence agencies actively intervene on the net as well as elsewhere, employing the full gamut of propaganda - counter-propaganda methodologies. It also seems reasonable to suppose that, amongst the more-or-less amorphous mass of public opinion in countries of Islam that finds outlets in internet fora and other communications on the web, some real, in the sense of committed and active, 'cells' as well as larger groups and movements that could be labelled 'islamicist radicals' do exist. It was stated that the 911 attacks were intended to help galvanise young Moslem opinion into taking seriously calls for 'Holy War' against degenerate and historical enemies in Israel and in the West, and to help establish a new 'Caliphate' of harsh, organised, militant, purifying Islam - the kind of Islam that swept all before it by fire and sword when it first erupted out of the Arabian peninsula in the days of Mohammed, peace be upon him, and his warrior clans not 1400 years ago. The actions of the USA and UK and other western countries in their 'War on Terra' have further served to galvanise this.

The Western media labels these phenomena 'al Qua'ida' for convenience in an unthinking way and as part of the propaganda drum. If the term means anything it is surely as a way of thinking, for there will be hardly any such 'Global' organisation in existence nor is it necessary.

How to distinguish between the Western counter-intelligence and the real thing? You tell me.

11. Wow. They are actually getting some history correct.
Therefore, I can surmise that some here will hail attacks on the UK as "justifiable." After all, they are one of the main collaborators with the Zionists to destroy Palestine. Never mind the UK's participation in the attacks on Afghanistan and Iraq, it is all about Palestine.

12. I guess he's ranting about the 1917 Balfour Declaration...
...which did have TWO co-equal parts:

1. Britan would "view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people," but...

2. "Nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine..."

The two promises were fundamentally incompatible and never going to work. The Zionists and their opposite numbers among the Arabs were making that clear even in 1917.

The al-Queda rant about "Arab tyrants colluding with Israel" is just hilarious. The problem is that Arab leaders have never been able to collude with each other, and have historically feared and mistrusted one another even more than they do Israel.

e.g, for a fun research project, you could look up what was happening in Yemen during 1967, when Israel inconveniently launched the Six Day War.

As previously ranted ad infinitum, I've lived in Egypt for over 3 years. One of the most fascinating antiques I've found here is "mandate money." That's paper currency printed during the British-supervised U.N. Palestine Mandate of 1945-48. The bills are printed in Arabic on one side and Hebrew on the other.
