China FM urges withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza

KLEINMOND, South Africa (AFP) — Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi called Friday for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the battle-torn Palestinian territory.

"We are deeply concerned about what is going on in the Gaza Strip," Yang told reporters after a meeting with his South African counterpart Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma outside of Cape Town.

"There should be an immediate ceasefire and withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza area."

"We believe that the international community should exert its efforts to alleviate the humanitarian crisis there. We believe that the goal should be... Israel and Palestine living together in peaceful co-existence."

"The current situation is totally unacceptable," he said.

3. Even China isn't bombing civilians it has barricaded into a neighborhood.
You have to go back 50 years or so to find a country doing that.

Sooner or later Israel will have to start paying attention
to what China says, and that may happen in a not too distant future.

Unlike the US, China will demand a "Quid pro Quo" of any "friendly" relationship
and responses to criticism with labels of anti-semitism will be
summarily dismissed as the nonsense they are.

Israeli leaders better wake up soon and realize this is not the 1980's anymore...

4. the neoCONs typically ignore this kinda criticism but I wonder how the Obama admin feel
