Hammond (LA) man arrested for making threat on Bush's life
Source: WWLTV - New Orleans

A Hammond man was arrested after allegedly making threats that he would kill President George Bush.

According to U.S. Attorney Jim Letten, Gregory Broussard, 44, made threats on Dec. 29 while at North Oaks Hospital in Hammond that he was going to kill President Bush. Broussard, according to a social worker who was treating him, said he threatened to “blow up the White House” and “kill President Bush.” The social worker added that he asked for a ride to Lutcher hospital because he had weapons inside his vehicle.

-snip-

Later an agent interviewed Broussard, asking him if he had any weapons inside his car. Broussard flip-flopped, at first saying he did and then later saying he didn’t; he stated, though, that he “knows how to make napalm” and that he is a “pyromaniac.”

Broussard also told the agent that he traveled to Baton Rouge days earlier to touch the bullet holes in the state capital that were left from Huey P. Long’s assassination. He said that he conducted a “reconnaissance” of the capital building and governor’s mansion, and placed himself in the position of both a spotter and a sniper in order to “better protect” President-elect Obama when he attends the Bayou Classic. He added he took multiple photos of the capital and governor’s mansion.

5. I feel for the guy...
But I agree, he sounds pretty stupid, and a little crazy.

But I have to admit, I feel for the guy. I think we can all agree that Bush could possibly be the worst president ever (http://tv1.com/playlists/123)

3. He must have heard Bush's take on Hurricane Katrina yesterday
If he saw Bush's blantantly disrespectful and dismissive recounting of the Hurricane Katrina story, I sympathize with the guy. Hammond's pretty close to New Orleans and I'm sure this guy lived through that utter hell that tore up the Gulf Coast. Bush's statements yesterday at that press conference probably pushed him over the edge & I surely sympathize. I was hoping for more thrown shoes myself (no I'm not being totally honest here myself. I'm looking for a Hague).

I feel that dude's anger & I most certainly understand it but unless he can take on the military single-handedly hold back the threats in public. The Obama Administration will rectify the situation in due time, don't worry.

4. I've got relatives in Ponchatoula, not far from Hammond
And you are right, they got torn up pretty bad as well during Katrina. My dad was born in Hammond, BTW.

10. Yep, I figured that's what happened
I looked up Hammond on Wikipedia and saw it close to the Gulf. I said yep they went through this hell personally. I remember a CNN report back then in Mississippi where this scraggly young white guy was cursing on camera and condemning Bush & the local police. I think Anderson Cooper was on the scene.

This guy's anger reminded me of that scene from almost 4 years ago. After hearing that flippant attitude Bush had yesterday my anger could never compare to those who went through that trauma. I merely got angry. They were incensed in fury.

How did your dad react to Bush's foolishness on the mic on Monday, NotGonnaTakeIt? If he watched it, that is.

11. Like me, my dad hates Bush. I doubt he watched.
I didn't either. I refuse to watch anything to do with him. If I am watching the news and he comes on the TV, I either mute the TV or change the channel until the next segment.

9. I'm betting this guy is schizophrenic, which is an illness that fosters "fixations".
This guy is apparently, & quite unfortunately, fixated on political figures & assassinations.

Not even recognized in a hospital? Btw, one of the most significant changes to the South Louisiana area since Katrina is inadequate hospitals/doctors.

Man, that guy must be sick! I doubt he's the only person who's ever had homicidal thoughts about Bush, but that absolutely takes the cake! :P

edit: :sarcasm:
