Blair House Mystery Solved
Source: WaPo

"The veil is lifted. We now know who is booked at Blair House, kicking President-elect Barack Obama and his family to the waiting list and across Lafayette Park to the Hay-Adams Hotel.

The only overnight visitor at the presidential guest manse is none other than John Howard, a former Australian prime minister and leading member of President Bush's coalition of the willing in Iraq." >>>

I no longer care. The Obamas are fine at the Hay Adams - which is MUCH nicer than Blair House, MUCH nicer - and so all I care about is those murdering hick motherfuckers get the hell out of my airspace.

I want them GONE.

I take this as a direct insult to Obama. How can Obama take this shit? I only hope that he can find a way to get even, I don't know how but it should be a thorough discrediting of the entire term of the creep. There aren't words to describe how I hate everything Bush has done.

with Kirribilli house.

This latest deal comes after he's been disgraced. A mysogynist and bigoted PM who lost his own seat in Parliament (a very rare thing in Australian politics) -to a woman who talked sense.

Bennelong doesn't miss him.

Nor do the majority of people in Australia-

28. A bump in the night: how Howard debunked Obama
Source: Sydney Morning Herald

Anne Davies
January 7, 2009 - 3:54PM

Thank heavens that John Howard is now our ex-Prime Minister, for it appears that he has inadvertently bumped President-Elect Barack Obama to the waiting list for the official presidential guest-manse, Blair House, forcing the first family into the nearby Hay-Adams Hotel.

Washington has been awash with speculation about the identity of the presidential guest who had caused the Obamas, whose children started school this week, to take up digs in a hotel.

That's our former Prime Minister for you -selfish little prick of a right wing ideologue with an oversized ego. Because of course his need to strut on the world stage and pretend that he is still somehow relevant and Dubya's need to reward his equally worthless cronies is so much more important than the needs of the Obama family.

29. Actually, I think Howard is doing Schimpanski a favor . . .
Having quickly moved into the place to provide some minimum of credibility (minimum measured in "Bushits," the smallest measurable unit in nature) that Blair House was "booked" by a "foreign dignitary."

I guess even after 8 years I'm stunned by what a small-minded prick Bush is. I'm still shaking my head.

34. My Understanding From Margaret Carlson
Is that when Obama requested Blair House it had not been book. Apparently Bush when out and shook the trees and out fell Howard to fill the role of foreign dignitary. And he is just here to get the Medal of Freedom draped around his neck like Paul Bremer. Now that is really scraping the bottom of the barrel.

37. Only close to the bottom... Colombia's Uribe is scummier.
The bottom of the barrel is President Uribe of Colombia.. Uribe has been invited a couple times to the Crawford White House to help George chop wood.. Considering President Uribe's Human Rights record, Bush and Uribe probably do a little target shooting at Crawford... Uribe and Howard will both receive the "presidential medal of Freedom" at the White House Jan. 13.. Considering political assassinations in Colombia, Uribe is just slightly moldier than even Howard... Guess, Uribe and Howard might well be bunk-mates at Blair House. Freedom and Colombia.. An oxymoron....

36. Yeah, Obama-style grace and humor
can come in mighty handy when dealing with the Bush White House. This is an obvious slight, and I hope both Bushes experience a little guilty acid reflux when greeting the new First Family at their front door. Particularly when those 2 darling little girls jump out of the limo. It doesn't matter where in the wide world Bush goes - he's an inept social disaster. Just ask Angela Merkle. And soon he'll be as irrelevant as John Howard.

a little over a year ago, the said John Howard ridiculed Obama. He was criticised for mocking the possible future US president. SHortly after he was defeated in the elections. I will search for the link later, since I'm working now.

42. At the end of the SMH article, there's this:
The day after Mr Obama announced his candidacy for the presidency in 2007, Mr Howard said Mr Obama's pledge to remove troops by March 31, 2008, would encourage the terrorists.

"I think he's wrong. I think that will just encourage those who want to completely destabilise and destroy Iraq, and create chaos and a victory for the terrorists to hang on and hope for an Obama victory," Mr Howard told the Nine Network.

"If I were running al-Qaeda in Iraq, I would put a circle around March 2008 and be praying as many times as possible for a victory not only for Obama but also for the Democrats."

Mr Obama responded equally stridently.

"I think it's flattering that one of George Bush's allies on the other side of the world started attacking me the day after I announced," Mr Obama told reporters from the campaign trail.

"I would also note that we have close to 140,000 troops in Iraq, and my understanding is Mr Howard has deployed 1400, so if he is ... to fight the good fight in Iraq, I would suggest that he calls up another 20,000 Australians and sends them to Iraq.

"Otherwise it's just a bunch of empty rhetoric."
