U.N. Secretary General Condemns Both Israel and Hamas
Edited on Mon Dec-29-08 12:15 PM by Just A Yeller Dawg
Source: CNN

In a statement earlier, the SG of the UN condemned both the Hamas rocket attacks and Israeli responses citing that while Israel certainly has a right to defend itself, the Israelis must temper their response and allow humanitarian efforts and access to the Palestinians.

1. And do the Palestinians have the right to defend themselves as well?
Is committing the war crime of collective punishment and starving 1.5 million people part of Israel's right to "self defense"?

Maybe that's why the USA was the only nation on the planet that voted no to food being a human right.

How can Israel's attacking Gaza be "in response" when in fact Israel has spent the past 6 months planning for these attacks?

I am so bloody tired of so-called "liberals" defending this bullshit; criticize the Israeli govt and you're "anti-semite". Same bullshit as the rightwingnut motherfucking freepers if you criticize bush.

Same shit, different assholes.

It's the government not the people of Israel. And our government just bows down to them every time. Just like us it's the government not the people for the most part. I mean who armed Israel? :eyes: I don't know why the hate us. :sarcasm: We are just promoting Freedumb and Dimocrazy don't ya know.

11. Only Israel has a right to exist...
That has been the position and always will be the position of Israel. Palestine does not have the right to exist apart from existing within Israel and it's a position that needs to finally be addressed.

The United States has supported that position because it creates a wedge that is politically advantageous in the Middle East. It becomes a "bargaining card" in the poker game.

Israel has now declared a "war to the bitter end" and quite frankly maybe it would serve the world as well as the region if the Arab countries stepped in and defended Palestine and just wiped Israel off the map.

Israel, not Palestine, has had 60 years to abide by the UN Partition Plan of 1947.

Once the war of 1948 ended, they should have abided by it.

People are tired of the oppressed Palestinians. I said the other day that people were tired of the oppressed Israelis as well but the Israelis are not oppressed. They are the oppressors.

I am angry finally. Israel was not worth the thousands of American lives sacrificed on 9/11.

We are oppressors as well. And Israel's policies have always reflected our own. And shame on us. And shame on Barack Obama for obviously endorsing them by allowing them to remain at OUR table.

8. let's be clear, folks. israel has become nothing more than a US military base.
why do you think we 'took' the land from palestine and not germany? because we knew goddamn well that oil would be a crucial resourse in the future.
anybody that thinks we do ANYTHING w/o putting us first and the world second, is a fool. israel, and therefore the US, could not care less about the suffering of ANY arab.

12. When Georgia bombed Ossetia, the US blamed BOTH Georgia and Russia
Only much later did the fact come out that Russia had nothing to do with it except come in days later to rout out Georgia from Ossetia.

Now again the US is blaming BOTH countries; the aggressor who starved and then bombed a blockaded country and the trapped bombed victim.

Israel is now bombing the Palestine rubble into littler pieces of rubble and the US is blaming Palestine for being bombed.
