Cheney plans quick return to Wyo
Source: Casper Star Tribune

CHEYENNE -- Vice President Dick Cheney will waste no time getting back to Wyoming after he and President George Bush officially leave office next month.

Cheney and wife Lynne are slated to fly to Casper immediately after the Jan. 20 inauguration ceremony for a reception that night at the home of family friends Mick and Susie McMurry, said state Treasurer Joe Meyer, a longtime friend of the Cheneys.

The private reception will offer a chance for the vice president to begin to "decompress" after eight years in office, Meyer said.

Close friends, including some members of the Cheneys' 1959 Natrona County High School graduating class, are expected to attend.

MORE from article: Cheney will receive a distinguished citizen award from the Boy Scouts. He will also be the featured speaker at the event, an annual fundraiser for the Longs Peak Council, which includes part of southeast Wyoming,

The fundraiser will take place at the Cheyenne Little America. Tickets are $175, but contributors will pay up to $15,000 to attend, McBride said.

"If you want to meet and greet and rub elbows with the Cheneys, it's going to be $15,000," McBride said.

It's a dump.

As is most of Cheyenne.

15. Well...it is Cheyenne, after all.
It's also Wyoming, after all. Now, I did go deer hunting there once, with very good success, but I didn't really enjoy the state all that much. Not a place I'd visit again.

Aside from the paramilitary feel, and the weird ick factor of adults wearing boy scout uniforms and the discrimination against gays.....Cheney...distinguished?

My daughter was a Girl Scout, which is really astonishingly different than the Boy Scouts.

24. Why Wyo?!1 He was a TX resident & therefore was breaking the law by running with a same-stater.
After all, Shrub is dropping the pretense of the pig farm and retreating to a rich, White enclave, so why doesn't CHEENEE drop it and go to TX which he prefers for its face-shooting laxity.

26. That's not true. You can run with another Texan if you want, but no one would
Says the god-damned piece of paper, the electors shall meet in their respective states and vote by ballot for two persons, of whom one at least shall not lie an Inhabitant of the same State with themselves.

Therefore, it is completely legal to run two Texans on the same ticket. What's NOT legal is for the electors from Texas to vote for a ticket that has two Texans on it. No Republican would write off a guaranteed 34 electoral votes no matter how wonderful the VP candidate in question was.
