Cheney, Gonzales indictments dropped
Source: The Raw Story

A judge in Raymondville, Texas has dropped indictments against Vice President Dick Cheney and former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.

Judge Manuel Banales, after surviving a motion to have him removed from the case, threw out eight of the indictments brought by Willacy County District Attorney Juan Guerra, including those against two special prosecutors, two district judges, and a district clerk.

Judge Banales ruled the grand jury returned the indictments against Cheney and Gonzales unlawfully. Banales also tossed an indictment for corruption against State Senator Eddie Lucio Jr., a Democrat.

Charges were brought against Vice President Cheney and former AG Gonzales for blocking the investigation into a prisoner's murder in a private prison in Raymondville.

1. I'm shocked!-- shocked I tell you!
Not.

The only way to bring those criminals to justice will be in shackles at The Hague. Few, if any, American courts will have the courage to face them.

2. Yep...who could have POSSIBLY seen this coming, except 99% of the people HERE.
We've learned our "Fitzmas" lesson. Criminals in the Bush administration WALK.

:grr:

5. THUS ALWAYS TO TYRANTS...they get away with it
They, like Bush, will get away with it in the end it seems.
And live the rest of their lives without ever facing justice, at least not in this life. Hell they will probably get to live to be real old sons a bitches.

For like the great Lewis Black says:

The good die young, but PRICKS LIVE FOREVER! :grr:

(except for Cheney who has to transfer his life force from one body to another to continue his reign of evil. This must be his thousandth cycle by now. I bet he has not had this much fun since his days as a Mayan God of destruction, or something like that.) YES, HE IS THAT OLD!

13. No. Tyrants always go down. Evil never wins.
These criminals will face justice someday. We got knocked down. When that happens you just got to get back up and keep going at it.

6. Cheney will walk away but not Alberto.
I really think something really stunk to high heaven, as my late mom would say, about the resignation of Gonzales. I may see Adam Schiff tomorrow at a party. I will ask his opinion. :smoke:

RAYMONDVILLE, Texas – A judge dismissed indictments against Vice President Dick Cheney and former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales on Monday and told the southern Texas prosecutor who brought the case to exercise caution as his term in office ends.

Willacy County District Attorney Juan Angel Guerra had accused Cheney and the other defendants of responsibility for prisoner abuse. The judge's order ended two weeks of sometimes-bizarre court proceedings.

Guerra is leaving office at the end of the month after soundly losing in his March primary election.

"I suggest on behalf of the law that you not present any cases to the grand jury involving these defendants," Administrative Judge Manuel Banales said in court while ruling that eight indictments against Cheney, Gonzales and others were invalid.

I posted a few days ago (see link below) about the prosecutor in these cases. You may want to read it for reference. The guy's a nut. A well-intentioned nut, but a nut nonetheless.

8. And having any outstanding charges against either of them
would trigger an executive pardon.

Well intentioned nuts would do better if they learned a little patience.

They've got less than two months to go.

10. If you think the law should apply...
...then you'll be happy that these stupid, friviolous indictments brought by a nutbag prosecutor on ridiculous charges were dismissed. That asshole did a real disservice to those of us who want to see real legal accountability.
