Kay Says Bush Slowing Intelligence Reform
WASHINGTON - The Bush administration is hampering efforts to improve intelligence by clinging to the false hope that weapons of mass destruction may be found in Iraq (news - web sites), the former chief U.S. weapons inspector said Thursday

"My only serious regret about the continued holding on to the hope that eventually we'll find it is that it eventually allows you to avoid the hard steps necessary to reform the process," David Kay said in an interview with The Associated Press.

6. I trust Kay as far as Ann Coulter could throw him
He was one of the top cheerleaders asserting that Iraq had WMD. How many times did he counter Scott Ritter's assertions that WMD were a red herring?

Now Kay has some epiphany and is now opposing Bush & Co.?? I don't think so. I think Bush & Co. figure that they better get all their dirty laundy out in the open now *MONTHS* before the elections.

Kay's still doing Bush & Co. a favor, IMHO. Helping them get all this stuff out in the open with plenty of time for the average American to "get over it" and have the issue fall off their radar.

4. chimp doesn't have any false hopes of finding anything
The WH knew along that their was nothing to find.

He is simply stalling this hoping it will be overshadowed by something else while his bogus commission runs after some red herring
about bad CIA intelligence.
