O'Reilly Apologizes For Supporting Iraq War
Conservative US broadcaster now sceptical about Bush

WASHINGTON - Conservative television news anchor Bill O'Reilly said on Tuesday he was now sceptical about the Bush administration and apologised to viewers for supporting prewar claims that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.

The anchor of his own show on Fox News said he was sorry he gave the United States government the benefit of the doubt that former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein's weapons programme posed an imminent threat, the main reason cited for going to war.

"I was wrong. I am not pleased about it at all and I think all Americans should be concerned about this," O'Reilly said in an interview with ABC's Good Morning America.

"What do you want me to do, go over and kiss the camera?" asked O'Reilly, who had promised rival ABC last year he would publicly apologise if weapons were not found.....cont'd

3. No we want you to resign from your position since you are so
blinded by your partisanship that you used your program as a bully pulpit to seduce Americans into going along for the ride.

We also want you to apologize to the anti-war protestors whose patriotism you questioned.

WE also want you to apologize to any legislator whose patriotism you questioned.

How about putting all the people in your show that you told to just SHUT UP and apologizing personally to them?

4. Misleading headline
He did not apologize for supporting the war. He still supports the war, and he issued a half-hearted politician's apology which said in effect "i'm sorry if anybody thought that I said something they might be offended by". Worthless.

5. The White House....
...would never have been able to sell the invasion without the handfull of propaganda megaphones like O'Reilly.

I do have to give him credit for keeping his word. He has a long way to go to make up for the blood he helped to spill. The rats are leaving the bush* ship.

7. I was shocked

As much as I hate the man,at least he did say he was wrong. How many others are sitting there, knowing they misled the American people, mum on the issue?

If he is able to do this, that is a first step. He was probably at ABC looking for a job because Fox News is probable going to fire him
asap.

6. Mr. Fair and Balance himself
The spin stops here. Who's looking out for you. He is a bunch of bull dung! He is a loud mouth who is constantly promoting a book or doormat, and never allow his guest, those he don't agree with, a moment to explain themselves.

My things is, who voted him the spokesperson for the American People?

9. Breaking News....
O'Reilly apologizes for being a blotchy, loudmouth, bullying, blowhard !!!! He also said he was sorry for being a lying tool.
As an indication of how sorry he is, he will now be reporting the TRUTH, as opposed to the propaganda he has been spouting for the last few years.
He further stated, "I would like to buy Al Franken a beer."

10. He Doesn't Know Why Tenet Still Has A Job?!?!?!? Huh?!?!?
I know why. Because Tenet fell on his sword, Billy boy! The CIA isn't to blame here, Tenet took the heat for the boss, because the boss is too stupid to have cooked this up, and too unreliable to keep him big mouth shut if the pressure gets too high.

If Tenet left the blame with the White House, the trouble would have gotten to Li'l Georgie and he would have not been willing to go down alone. They needed, desperately, for Tenet to accept blame.

Tenet has a payoff somewhere down the line on this, mark my words.

Sorry, Billy-boy, that you too vacuous to have concluded this on your own.
The Professor

14. That may work both ways.
They each know the other was very neglient leading up to 9/11. They are protecting each other.

15. Right, obstructing justice
...I would call it. I don't believe that negligence really applies. The anthrax attacks were deliberate. They are circumstantially linked to the government and the government is apparently obstructing the investigation. IMHO.

A contract handwriting forensics expert asked for samples from a limited number of known individuals associated with the anthrax case. No dice, down the black hole. This is the guy who solved the unibomber case. I know who I would take depositions of, if I were really interested in solving the case..

But, who cares about them, huh? They're just brown people, not blotchy Irish-American egomaniacal bullies.
