MarketWatchSAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Tech stocks crashed Wednesday as the Nasdaq Composite Index slid below the 1,500 mark for the first time since May 22, 2003. The Nasdaq closed the day down 5.2% at 1,499.21, while the Dow lost more than 400 points amid fresh concerns about the state of the economy. Tech stocks suffered big losses across the board. Web search giant Google Inc. closed the day down 6.6% at $291 - the first time the stock has fallen under the $300 mark since October of 2005. End of Story
