McCain Predicts Late-Night Win on Election Day
Source: "Fox News"

'I hope it peaks out at just about mid-day next Tuesday,' McCain said in an interview with FOX News

John McCain, predicting "we may be up late" on Election Day, told FOX News on Thursday that he intends to surge in the final hours of his underdog presidential campaign.

"I hope it peaks out at just about mid-day next Tuesday. We are excited about where we are going. People are beginning to focus on the campaign," McCain told FOX News, in between a whirlwind of campaign stops in Ohio.

"We are going to win this election but I understand that it is still an uphill fight, and I have got to be the underdog right up until the polls open," McCain said. "And I am serious about that -- that's when we do best."

A new FOX News-Opinion Dynamics poll out Thursday showed Obama's national lead dropping from 9 points to 3 points among likely voters.

The Democratic candidate also still leads in critical battlegrounds, but McCain is attempting to poke holes in his armor by raising questions about his ability to handle a crisis and his economic intentions.

8. comments like this keep me from developing an ulcer or bcoming an alcoholic this week!
Seriously - do I need to see a shrink, or is everybody just freaking out? I cannot wait for Tuesday to know if I can walk with my head held high and happy for our future, or start looking for land in Canada or Mexico!

2. As predicted, close enough to steal-polls are already showing McCain creeping back in and by Tuesday
Edited on Thu Oct-30-08 06:01 PM by GreenTea
the bullshit polls will tell us McCain is within a couple of points and surging....Just as many of us knew would happen on election day....and the republican slime usually steal it - flip it, late at night - early in the morning!

And if they do indeed steal those swing states & the election, think of all the ready made excuses the republicans will have to feed the media with on WHY?

The "Bradley Effect" turned out to be larger than most expected.

McCain's pounding Obama on being a socialist paid off.

People just trusted McCain's experience more in the end.

People didn't want a democratic congress and a democratic president.

Many undecided voters decided on McCain at the very last minute.

Young voters didn't show up to vote in the numbers as expected.

It seems that complacency took hold of many Obama supporters with his big lead in the polls the past couple of weeks.

The charismatic Sarah Palin turned out to be a plus for McCain and helped him win over many Obama voters.

Unexpectedly, Latino voters, in surprisingly large numbers voted for McCain.

14. Godalmighty but I hope you don't get a chance to say "I told you so" next Wednesday.

But I know these bastards will not give up power easily, and I've been thinking the same about the polls.

Plausible deniability.

And once we take control, we're gonna clean up the friggin' election process.

20. If that happens we will know it was stolen
As dumb as so many Americans are, I have no doubt that a clear majority of us are smart enough to vote for Barack Obama over Palin and McCain. If they steal this one, street riots will last far past election night, and there will be serious civil unrest and anarchy for years to come.

33. In fact. McPalin CAN still win -- but they need a big sweep to do it
I've been guessing the battle turns around AZ, CO, FL, GA, IN, MO, MT, NC, ND, NH, NV, OH, SD, VA, and WV

If McPalin carries them all then OBiden loses 278-260
OBiden still loses if OBiden carries one of MT,ND,NH,NV,SD,WV and McPalin carries the rest
or if OBiden carries two of MT,ND,SD and McPalin carries the rest
or if OBiden carries one of MT,ND,SD and one of NH,NV,WV and McPalin carries the rest

But it goes to the House if OBiden carries CO and McPalin carries the rest
or if OBiden carries NH plus one of NV or WV and McPalin carries the rest
or if OBiden carries MT,ND,SD and McPalin carries the rest

McPalin loses if OBiden carries one of AZ, FL, GA, IN, MO, NC, OH, or VA and McPalin carries the rest
or if OBiden carries NV and WV and McPalin carries the rest
or if OBiden carries one of NH,NV,WV plus two of MT,ND,SD and McPalin carries the rest

37. VA and NC will be early indicators
If McLame cannot carry those two, he's toast. If Sen. Obama loses NC, and is too close to call in VA, then we are in for a long night. Good thing I don't have to go in till noon the next day.

That's an interesting statement. Make a list of the reasons why one would suddenly do better once the polls open. All done?

I count one reason.
