Rove tips hat to Democrat imitators
Source: The Australian

IF Barack Obama wins the presidential election, it will be because he has beaten the Republicans at their own game, according to Karl Rove, the "architect" of George W. Bush's two victories.

The Democrats have copied Rove's formidable tactics and ground operation, pumping out a disciplined message, assembling a broad-based coalition that includes young first-time voters and African-Americans and drowning their Republican opponents with money.

"I've got to tell you, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery," Rove said in an interview. "I can say, I'm deeply flattered."

Rove recalled how Obama's campaign manager, David Plouffe, outlined their electoral strategy at the Democratic convention in August: "He explicitly said we have deliberately copied the army of persuasion of the Republicans."

regime of fear, liea and gerrynmandering with, if all else fails, election fraud tossed in!

31. here here!
Rove's biggest stock in trade is the Lie (big & small) the Cheat, and the
Dirty Trick.

From the first step he took into the political arena he dealt in the foulest of behavior. It is DISGUSTING that he would equate his filthy dealings with the strength and power of an idea whose Time has Come.

Funny how the source for saying the Dems have Karl Rove to thank is Karl Rove.

The Obama campaign is light-years ahead in terms of integrity from anything to which you have ever put your grimy hand. You're not fit to claim kinship with the Obama campaign in any way whatsoever. I hope your days of association with power are at an end and that the crimes you've committed dog you until the day you die.

Rove and Bush had people like Pastor Ted into the Oval Office (actually Rove ran the re-election campaign from day one of 2001 after he GOT BEATEN ON THE GROUND by the Gore team) and they would give Ted et al a White House pen. Ted and his kind would go back to their megachurches and tell the flock about how THEY were only one degree away from their fake-fundie hero W then Ted would hold up the pen (an ink pen) that he had received from Bush. The crowd would oooh and aahhh and even Ted didn't realize that all he actually ever got was a pen.

They also did away with the expense of setting up tables and hiring waitstaff for max donation dinners. They actually had the power broker money guys and their wives dressed in tails and eating STANDING UP hot dogs and hamburgers. The crowd went along with it because they were just so happy to be in the same room as W. Then off swooshed Bush to another such event pocketing $1Million at each hop (on our dime because he invited himself to things like MLK's birthday celebration).

Can't remember his name but DiIulio's #2 at the Faith Based office wrote a book about this and how W and Rove openly laughed at duping the easily faithful....with the taxpayer paid expense of a single ink pen.

12. SMD Karl Rove! Obama's Campaign has never been that smearfest you did in 2000 and 2004.
Tell me, when has Obama or any of his top campaign people ever smeared McCain's personality?

Has McCain been SwiftBoated? No.

Has he been smeared with personal attack labels? No.

McCain however has been examined for his policies and his association with Dubya.

Everybody but your narcissistic brain knows.

Karl Rove knows he will be held accountable once his friends in D.C. are swept out of the Capital.

Karl Rove will spend his last days in a federal prison.

Goodbye Karl Rove and shame on you for what you did to our country.

20. This Is HOWARD DEAN'S GAME! And Obama Is a Master at it!
Howard Dean and Joe Trippi started this method of running for office, and when the rug was pulled out from under them, Dean went into the Democratic Party structure and started to franchise.

Obama took their model and with some refinement and a lot of really bad plays from the opposition, put the football across the goal line. Repeatedly.

Karl, this is the Anti-Rove Game. And you've lost. Now all that's left is the sweeping up, where you and your accomplices are packed off to prison.

Because your version of the republiKKKan party was the most corrupt, incompetent group of criminals this country has ever witnessed. From your NeoCons to your bible-thumping evangelicals, to your knuckle dragging freeptards, the entire pack of you have destroyed our great country.

As far as I'm concerned, voting you out of office is not good enough, but I'll keep my mouth shut since I'm sure this board is monitored by the department of homeland insecurity.

42. How did we copy Rove again?
Did we demonize large portions of Americans as enemies?

No.

Did we try to get laws and constitutional amendments passed base don bigotry against portions of Americans to turn out the base?

No.

Did we use fear to keep people so panicked they would do whatever we wanted?

No.

Did we use constant smears and lies one after another regardless of how unfounded or even illogical?

No.

Did we make sure that thousands upon thousands of voters would be unable to vote?

No.

Did we choose ideology over ability?

No.

Do I need to go on?

No.

Sorry Rove but just because we are winning and figuring out how to counter your BS does not mean we are copying you.

47. Eh, not really. If you use the word "democratic" here, it will be taken to mean
"as opposed to dictatorial" ie. about a method of government, not which party they belong to. (Note: the source we are discussing is Australian)

The default here is republican and democrat. This doesn't poll disfavourably versus other versions because there aren't any other versions in common usage. As far as I am aware, when referring to the party the media in general still uses "democratic party" and "republican party" as a matter of ettiquette more than anything else, in case you want to know.

Carry on.
