Palin Said to Want to Strike Out on Her Own More
Source: KNX 1070 News Radio

Even as John McCain and Sarah Palin scramble to close the gap in the final days of the 2008 election, stirrings of a Palin insurgency are complicating the campaign's already-tense internal dynamics.

Four Republicans close to Palin said she has decided increasingly to disregard the advice of the former Bush aides tasked to handle her, creating occasionally tense situations as she travels the country with them. Those Palin supporters, inside the campaign and out, said Palin blames her handlers for a botched rollout and a tarnished public image — even as others in McCain's camp blame the pick of the relatively inexperienced Alaska governor, and her public performance, for McCain's decline.

13. That's not funny at all
Edited on Sat Oct-25-08 03:35 PM by DFW
A pretzel recently came closer to causing the death of a president by armed
attack than any weapon since 1981. If that pretzel had been of a heavier caliber,
then Cheney would now have been president. Only the fact that it was wielded by
an incompetent assailant permitted Bush to survive the attack, and this is in no
way mitigated by the fact that Bush's assailant was himself.

4. "Paling around with terrorists" was Palin's idea of campaigning
As the story on this states.

Palin is a dangerous woman. She is attractive, can be charming, and she is a demagogic christo-fascist.

"When fascism comes to America it will be made up by someone from dancing with the stars and wearing red spike pumps." - the newer version of Sinclair Lewis' statement.

Um, I thought CBS was in control, they are a 'news' organzation, ae they not.

. . . referring to McCain's chief strategist, Steve Schmidt, and to Nicolle Wallace, a former Bush aide who has taken a lead role in Palin's campaign. . . . noting that Wallace left an executive job at CBS to join the campaign.

Oh, now I understand.

Source: CNN

With 10 days until Election Day, long-brewing tensions between GOP vice presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin and key aides to Sen. John McCain have become so intense, they are spilling out in public, sources say.

Several McCain advisers have suggested to CNN that they have become increasingly frustrated with what one aide described as Palin "going rogue."

--snip--

"She is a diva. She takes no advice from anyone," said this McCain adviser. "She does not have any relationships of trust with any of us, her family or anyone else.

"Also, she is playing for her own future and sees herself as the next leader of the party. Remember: Divas trust only unto themselves, as they see themselves as the beginning and end of all wisdom."

Actually, I'm starting to love the little darlin'. I was sick of seeing her on TV, but now I'd like to see her on the air 24/7 until 11/5. She can only make sense for a half sentence and after that, the longer she talks, the crazier it seems to vote for any ticket that includes her. Every time she says the word "maverick," an angel gets its wings and uses them to keep another Republican at home getting drunk on the 4th. :rofl:

55. Palin's 'going rogue,' McCain aide says
Source: (CNN)

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico (CNN) -- With 10 days until Election Day, long-brewing tensions between GOP vice presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin and key aides to Sen. John McCain have become so intense, they are spilling out in public, sources say.

Several McCain advisers have suggested to CNN that they have become increasingly frustrated with what one aide described as Palin "going rogue."

McCain sources say Palin has gone off-message several times, and they privately wonder whether the incidents were deliberate. They cited an instance in which she labeled robocalls -- recorded messages often used to attack a candidate's opponent -- "irritating" even as the campaign defended their use. Also, they pointed to her telling reporters she disagreed with the campaign's decision to pull out of Michigan.

A second McCain source says she appears to be looking out for herself more than the McCain campaign.

He wanted a mavrick - he got one. He didn't want anyone to compete with him intellectually and he had to go really low to find someone to fit that bill. If Sarah can drop the right wing religious nonsense, go back to Alaska, learn something about the world, she may be back and not be half bad. Would never vote for her but given the state of the Republican party, she may be the one who runs in 2012.

Definitely someone who would uphold Democratic principles.

The federal government is Democratic. Republicans belong at the state level (Article 4; Section 4). Whenever someone calls the United States 'the Republic', they are trying to trick you. It is a campaign scheme, to make you think voting Republican is patriotic.

69. can't say I blame her.
Can't blame the dominionist/theocons for mistrusting the neocon sociopaths.

Can't blame the neocons for noticing that the theocons are simpletons.

Can't blame McCain for noticing that Palin is a drag on the ticket.

Can't blame Palin for noticing that McCain is about as charismatic as a wet cat with a toothache and about as clever as Ralph Wiggums.

Can't blame the old-school fiscal conservatives for wondering "WTF????!???!???!??!???!??!??!??!??!??!?" about the deficit and the bailout of corrupt financial firms.

Can't blame the so-called Reagan Democrats for wondering "WTF????!???!???!??!???!??!??!??!??!??!?" about their now-outsourced jobs and their ever-more-expensive health care.

Don't agree with any of them, but don't blame them for disagreeing with each other because they are all wrong wrong wrong in their own special ways.

72. Strike Out? It must be "Palin At The Bat..."
The outlook wasn't brilliant for the GOP that day;
The polls stood 60-40, with but one week more to play,
And then when Georgia turned blue, and Virginia did the same,
A sickly silence fell upon the pundits of the game.

A straggling few wrote off the GOP in deep despair. The rest
Clung to that hope which springs eternal in the human (and maybe Repub) chest;
(Only Godless Liberals say "breast" in print. This is a family poem.)
They thought, if only Palin could get but a whack at that -
We'd put up even money, now, with Palin at the bat.

But McCain preceded Palin, as did also Coleman, Norm,
And the former was a loser and the latter was a worm;
So upon that stricken multitude grim melancholy sat,
For there seemed but little chance of Palin's getting to the bat.

But McCain fell off the stage, then staggered off to bed,
And Norm, the much despis-ed, dropped a baby on its head;
And when commercials ended, and the nation watched the news,
There was Sarah Palin, smirking at the camera crews...

And now the first question came hurtling through the air,
And Sarah stood a-listening in hi-style grandeur there.
"What about your foreign policy?" the anchorwoman read.
"That ain't my style," said Palin. "Strike one," the anchor said.

From the benches, black with Freepers, there went up a mewling whinge,
Almost louder than Rush Limbaugh on an Oxycontin binge,
"Kill her! Kill the anchor!" shouted someone on the stand;
And it's likely they'd a-killed her had not Palin raised her hand.

With phony Fundie charity Palin's Spackled visage shown;
She stilled the rising tumult; she bade the show go on;
"What about sex education?" the next question flew.
But Sarah still ignored it, and the anchor said, "Strike two."

"Fraud!" cried the Freepers, and Hannity echoed fraud;
But one scornful look from Sarah and the audience was awed.
They saw her face grow cracked and cold, they saw her facial muscles twitch,
And they knew Sarah was 'bout to put the smackdown on the bitch.
(I was just kidding about a family poem.)

The spittle flies from Sarah's lips, she's staying on mes-sage;
She pounds with cruel violence one brain-cell on the stage.
And now the anchor asks about that quarter-mil wardrobe,
And now the air is shattered by the force of Palin's blow.

Oh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright;
Obama's speaking somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light,
And somewhere Biden's laughing, and somewhere children shout;
But there is no joy in the GOP— Sarah Palin has struck out.

throw it all out there and hope something works.

79. Remember when she said such and such would take place "in a
Palin/McCain administration"? Maybe she wasn't misspeaking, maybe she just let the cat out of the bag too early.
