McCain surrogate tells Dominican (Univ.) students to prepare for war with Iran in next four years
Source: Marin Independent Journal

A Republican charged with representing the views of presidential candidate Sen. John McCain told Dominican University students Thursday that war with Iran in the next four years is inevitable.

... After each presentation, brief comments were added by Republican William Grayson, president of a San Francisco hedge fund company and former general counsel for the San Francisco Republican Central Committee, and Tony West, a partner at a San Francisco law firm and co-chairman of the Obama campaign's California finance committee.

"Let me assure you of this," Grayson said after the student presentation on foreign policy. "The next president, whether it is Senator Obama or John McCain, will go to war, and he will go to war with Iran.

... "It kind of caught everybody off guard," said Jena Goyner, 21, who is studying history and political science at Dominican. "College students don't want to hear that. We don't want to hear that we've been trapped in war for six years, and we're about to go get into another one."

i think joe biden was right. we need to split-up iraq... followed by this country. let's give the west coast and most of the east coast to bill o'reily's sp's. the heartland goes to the patriots - those god lovin', hard-workin', hockey moms.

5. Iraq refuses to be party to Republican neo-cons plans for Iran
Iraq's refusal to allow the United States to use their territory for any attack against their neighbors was de facto proof of their fears that this was indeed the intention of the Republican war mongers. We are quickly becoming persona non Grata. They want us the hell out of their country and are saying no to any permanent military bases. The Bush administration is frantically trying to seal a deal before they are out of office. They are desperately holding out hope that they can pass the torch of destruction to McCain who has surrounded himself with the same PNAC neo-cons that have dominated the Bush administration and its insane policies. They have not lost their dream, albeit in reality a nightmare, to dominate the Middle East.

6. This is a tricky one
Not because I support war with Iran, but check the following quote:

Ira Glunts writes at Dissident Voice that,

"A couple of weeks ago, Ross, who is presently advising and campaigning for Presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama, gave a lecture at Colgate University, a small liberal arts school in Central New York. It was during the question and answer period that I brought up a prominent report in the Israeli press which said former member of parliament and former cabinet minister Ephraim Sneh, speaking for his government, sent identical memos to both Senators Obama and John McCain. The memos declared that Israel would attack Iran in 2010 unless the “Iranian nuclear threat” is negated by a US attack or a regime change in Tehran.1"

http://www.dissidentvoice.org/2008/10/a-bright-shining-lie-dennis-ross-and-the-run-up-to-an-attack-on-iran/

All I'm saying is that we need to be vigilant about this situation and perhaps form some sort of coalition with Israelis who condemn any aggression toward Iran. Vigilance requires that we let our future Obama administration know that unprovoked aggression is unacceptable and more of the same.

9. Then maybe it's time to put the thumb on the obvious warmongers in the area?
Both Iran and Iran have been acting foolishly. Work diplomatically to cut off mil;itary support for Iran and cut military support for Israel.

12. ....AND the Pentagon just sold Israel 1,000 brand-new bunker-buster bombs.
Sale approved by DoD Sept 14, Congress had 30 days to cancel the sale and didn't.

Hooray Congress! Way to seal our fate!!

13. More like before Jan 20th
If there is going to be a "preemptive strike"/preemptive counterstrike with Israel/Iran it will be, as with South Ossetia, before Obama takes office.
