Sarah Palin to appear on "Saturday Night Live"

(CNN) -- Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin plans to appear on "Saturday Night Live" this weekend, multiple sources told CNN Thursday.

"Saturday Night Live" has featured three opening skits in which former cast member and Palin lookalike Tina Fey portrays the Alaska governor. It was not known whether Fey also will appear on Saturday night's program.

The live comedy program airs on NBC at 11:30 p.m. ET.

Fey first appeared as Palin for the show's season premiere last month in a sketch with SNL cast member Amy Poehler, who played Sen. Hillary Clinton. Fey reprised her role as Palin two weeks later, again alongside Poehler, who played CBS's Katie Couric in a parody of Palin's interview with the CBS anchor earlier that week.

Earlier this week, Palin told reporters that she'd love to appear on the show with Fey, The Associated Press reported.

"I love her, she's a hoot and she's so talented," Palin said, according to the AP. "It would be fun to meet her, imitate her and keep on giving her new material."

7. sarah still doesn't get it

"It would be fun to meet her, imitate her and keep on giving her new material". Now she thinks she can stand

pointed toe to toe with Tina Fey, imitate her, and is going to be doing Tina Fey a favor by being relevant

enough in be made fun of in the not so distant future.

9. Palin: "It would be fun to meet her, imitate her ..."
"It would be fun to imitate her"?

Wait a minute, Sarah, I thought you already imitated her once, for Halloween? Or was that just another lie?

17. The usual upside-down Orwellian type language designed to confuse and befuddle
Edited on Fri Oct-17-08 07:28 AM by tom_paine
Strictly pure advertising and marketing.

Deliberately insane upside-down statements, which I think we can all agree in the Bushigandists' MO, under a media-saturated False Reality Bubble Gestalt which reinforces the False Reality insanity while disarming the minds of the clueless like flipping a switch.

The Bsuhies secret is that they basically do this 100% of the time, shamelessly and regardless of how demonstrably the facts prove them wrong.

Facts, as Goebbels once said, are for Liberal Weaklings (I am paraphrasing here), and Liberal; protestations are unfactuality should be shouted over always by Bushies, Michael Savage-style...

How does that relate to this innocent piece of nonsense by Palin? The Bushies are good at building False Realities preciscely because they are so thorough and dogged in their extension of marketing to everything and I mean EVERY-THING.

It's only good business.

In that context, Palin's handlers were just being thorough and consistent with Bushiganda stragegy.

Just another upside-down ridiculous piece of nonsense, a turning about of roles, designed to be a tiny brick in a very large wall designed to basically unhinge the National Mind and wall it off from reality.

Sounds crazy, and I am sure, if I had been schooled in marketing and public relations I could explain it to you as they explain it to each other, but I am viewing it from the outside and thus my explanations are autodidactic.

26. I think it's pretty simple, really ...
There are only so many shovels, so if you spew enough s**t it will overwhelm. And they're not trying to communicate to all the people, just enough to get elected... the followers and the uninformed.

14. Palin has refused to talk to journalists -other than the Couris fiasco-
and yet she can find the time to appear on a comedy show.

that's exactly how serious anyone should take her campaign. It's amazing, really, that the republicans could sink lower than duhduhduh Dubya, but with Palin, they have. They have chosen an even more uninformed, incurious, talibornagain candidate whose ignorance is only matched by her certainty that she is right.

23. I was thinking the same thing ab
What kind of skit could they do? Make fun of shooting caribou? Have a good laugh over creationism? Will the audience boo her?

The McCain camp will insist on reviewing all the skits - I anticipate some really lame "humor"

Seriously SNL what was the point of the skits that Fey did if you are going to turn around and have her on to lend her credibility as someone that people are laughing with and not at.

I suspect that Fey wants no part of this and will not be present, though I'm probably wrong :)

29. Sarah Palin to appear on "Saturday Night Live"
This is just wrong and BAD. No person running for office in such a hard time should be doing things like appearing on SNL. People will not take opops I meant people are allready not taking Sarah Palin seriously and this is just another example of Palin screwing up again. It's totally fine with me as I am a democrat and hope the Republicans fall flat on their faces :)!!! This is just the wrong image a person running for VP would want to give to America especially in such hard times that Americans are facing. Do you see Joe Biden messing around going on different shows NO!! Joe Biden is out stomping in different states working his ASS off. Yes he has appeared on Jay Leno but everyone that runs for office appears on Jay Leno or David Letterman at some point in time. But SNL I just don't think is appropriate!! Just shows how careless and clueless Sarah Palin is!!

I agree if Sarah Palin wont sit the hell down with reporters what gives her the right to appear on SNL. Sarah Palin needs to take her VP role SERIOUSLY. Answer the god damn questions asked by reporters!!! I hate Sarah Palin and is fine with me that she and McSame/McPalin fall flat on their faces!!
