Palin on Saturday Night Live? You betcha’
Source: Christian Science Monitor

The New York Post is reporting that Palin’s appearance on Oct. 25 is signed, sealed, and delivered.

>Soccer moms and Joe Sixpacks, listen up. Get your beer, mooseburgers and caribou dips ready. Sarah Palin is doing “Saturday Night Live.” Not Tina Fey doing Sarah Palin doing “Saturday Night Live.” But the Sarah Herself. She has already OK’d it. She’s booked. It’s confirmed. Done deal. Sketches are being sketched as we speak. She - eyeglasses, haircomb, designer jacket and trunkful of gosh-darns, golly-gees and gol-dangs - will be on “SNL” Saturday night, Oct. 25. Sarah’s rehearsal time has already been penciled in for Friday the 24th. And it’s because she wants to do it.<

That last sentence is definitely true. She told reporters earlier this week that she wanted to go on the show and meet her highly regarded impersonator, Tina Fey.

“I love her (Fey), she’s a hoot and she’s so talented,” Palin said. “It would be fun to meet her and keep on giving her new material.”

7. The real Palin on SNL huh?
I hope they skewer her something fierce. Either that or give her some really clever pro-Obama lines that are way over her head... you know, lines that only elitists and intellectuals would understand.

When Reagan abolished it- that's how we got Fox News and Limbaugh...

11. In light of the recent hate speech at Palin's right wing rallies, my family WILL NOT be watching SNL
In light of the recent hate speech at Palin's right wing rallies, my family WILL NOT be watching SNL if Palin is allowed to further her right wing agenda at our expense. We buy the products that advertisers pay NBC for airtime, therefore, you are making US pay for Palin to be able to spread her hate FOR FREE.

44. I think that was before they started in with the "Who is Barack Obama?" hate speech
at their rallies.

Getting busted about inciting people to shout "Kill him!" and "Traitor!" againt her black opponent is going to make her comedy sketch a little awkward.

I've written NBC/SNL and told them I won't be watching her attempt at an image makeover. Too little, way too late.

Tina Fey is going to find this a challenge.

19. It's not a big deal
There have been lots of politicians who have come on the show and met their alter egos. It's funny, or not, depending on whether that particular pol is funny (or not).

The idea of protesting it is stupid. Going on the show isn't going to change the outcome of the election one bit. Let her have her 15 minutes.

Besides, for all we know, maybe our Veep candidate will get a surprise cameo.

20. They should first insist she sit down for a straight news interview at NBC
It's nice how she dictates her appearances. This could put her in a positive light, being a good sport, good old Sarah willing to poke fun at herself. She is actually dangerous and they should not make light of it. I'm just sayin.

23. Obama was supposed to be on SNL.
But canceled because of Hurricane Ike. They need to invite him again before the election.

As for Palin, she doesn't seem the type to laugh at herself (like Biden did). I can't see her getting through a skit without losing it.

Edited on Fri Oct-10-08 10:20 PM by Mike Daniels
Sorry, but Obama at that time was nothing more than a candidate for office.

SNL is under no obligation to give him a "do over" for something that he was not obligated to do.

32. Hopefully so many people WON'T watch
that it'll cause SNL to rethink moves like this. Not because she belongs to a different party than I do, but because of what she's instigating. The country is in big trouble and our leaders need to give us hope and bring us together. She's promoting division, fear, and hate. Kind of what a real terrorist would do.

38. The audience has an obligation
The audience has an obligation to boo that C U Next Tuesday out of the building. That racist has the nerve to incite near riots by more than inferring that Obama is a terrorist and intentionally leading people to believe that he has a secret agenda!?! Fuck. Her. I want to see the audience chase her with torches and shout "secessionist", "Troopergate", "witch doctor" and "mustache on Newsweek" until she melts into her hat like the witch she is.

for one reason: She wants to springboard herself into the Ovary Office.

Ain't gonna happen, Sarah. Your future political career is relegated to the dustbin of history.

America can't forget you fast enough.
