(Senator Joe) Biden sends off son, Delaware troops to Iraq
Source: AP

DOVER, Del. (AP) — Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden has bid his son and other members of a Delaware National Guard unit goodbye as they prepare to deploy to Iraq.

Biden told the soldiers outside the state capitol that his heart is "full of love and pride." He says he takes comfort in knowing the 261st Signal Brigade is the "best prepared group of citizen-soldiers" the U.S. has ever sent in harm's way.

Biden added that the unit's members are "the best demonstration of our nation's greatness and our people's goodness."

Biden's son is Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden.

3. They need to pull his son out
due to his position in possibly being the next VP. I think it imperative they pull him out and Palin's son also.

4. I disagree. Let them stay...
...This isn't a draft. Both sons are going because they chose to do so. We have often criticized Bush's regime, appropriately, for their lack of military experience, or the fact that their children aren't in the military. On another level altogether, do you think Biden or Palin would allow that to happen? No way.

5. While I don't think they should pull them out for that reason,
I've been saying since Palin first mentioned her son was going to Iraq that it's a bad idea to say anything about the two VP nominees kids being in Iraq on National/International television. They'd be great targets for al-Qaida or other enemy groups to take hostage, and that would end in no way well...

That said, I hope both, and as many soldiers as possible, return home safely.

7. Whomever is elected, their son
should be pulled to stateside, just like Prince Harry. He'll have a target on his back and put his unit and others in even MORE danger.
