McCain Team Blasts Poll Showing Obama Leading
Source: U.S. News & World Report, L.P.

Republican presidential nominee John McCain's campaign this morning pushed back hard against a new Washington Post-ABC News national poll that shows Democratic nominee Barack Obama leading McCain by 52 percent to 43 percent, a substantial shift from the dead heat the poll found two weeks ago. ...

... "We have an incredibly stable race," said McInturff, who insisted that the campaign's internal tracking has not revealed any volatility in public opinion over the past 2 weeks as the financial crisis has unfurled. Professing respect for the Post-ABC pollsters, he added, "I don't think these results are at all indicative of what's happening in the campaign." ...

12. Sure hope you're right.
If this poll is accurate, Democrats still shouldn't get over-confident. A lot of things can happen between now and November 4. If the gap closes, it will be easy for the Repugs to steal the election again, what with all that vote caging and vote suppression, and those wonky voting machines.

So don't count on anything just yet! GOTV!

22. You're right...whenever you hear "Polls don't vote, people do...."
The candidate and his supporters are pissing themselves. The first time I heard this, it was in regard to Mondale's poll numbers.

At the same time, a Polish-American lady in the room joked, "Poles do SO vote!" (True story!)

6. I agree polls aren't 100% accurate as the election polls are the only ones that matter
However, I heard no blasting after the post convention bump.

9. Jeez, Leweeeze...
Yet another sign of McGrampy's campy swirling down the cesspool drain...

Denial, anyone? Panic, anybody.

It should be noted that, as we know, neither the Post nor ABC are liberal bastions, by any stretch - and if THEY are publishing such a wide spread, I wonder what the other polls are saying?

(Yes, I know the Gallup daily tracking has Obama up by 3 today.)

This is just another example of McGrampaw's Minions trying to "work the refs", the same type of thing they tried against the NYTimes recently. Didn't work then, and it won't work now.

Puh-the-tik!

16. Even Fox has Obama with a healthy 6% lead
And as we all know Fox is a conservative outlet. That should tell them something.

19. That's one poll. What about the other recent polls?
I've heard of at least three others that also show Obama with a sizeable lead, include a 6% lead in a FOX news poll. 6% is outside the margin of error, so if Fox is reporting that, then Obama easily has a 10-15 point lead over McCain, country-wide.

21. IDIOTS!
Yes The Washington Post oversampled Democrats in a ratio of around 3:2 to republicans. Why? Because that more accurately reflects the voter registration rolls as of today! Obama is pulling away! The tough hard slogging groundwork by the DNC in getting voters registered especially these last two years is paying off. And the ultimate payoff will be on that great first Tuesday in November! Of course if I were in the McLame camp, I would be balking at the polling news too...perfectly understandable. Sucks to lose. We know, having been screwed in the past two Presidential elections but our time is now!
