Sharpton criticizes Bush for reluctance concerning Liberia
http://www.newsday.com/news/local/wire/ny-bc-ny--sharpton-liberia0725jul25,0,6110011.story?coll=ny-ap-regional-wire

Democratic presidential candidate Al Sharpton, just returned from talks aimed at restoring order to civil war-torn Liberia, criticized President Bush on Friday for failing to send peacekeeping forces into that West African nation.

Bush, who completed a five-day, five-nation African trip earlier this month, has positioned some 4,000 troops off Liberia's coast but has not committed them to the West African force that Liberians hope will end a decade-plus of internal bloodshed.

"It seems this administration's foreign policy is different, absolutely different, when it comes to people of color," said Sharpton. "I can't imagine that there wouldn't be intervention in Europe if thousands were dying in war."

1. Actually, he's wrong on this point....

Remember how excited Republicans were about helping out in Kosovo???

Bush should shit or get off the pot re: Liberia. His indecision has only made the siuation worse.

3. Well Congratulations
A Democratic Presidential candidate bashes Bush* for being a racist (true) and for not intervening in Liberia (also true), and you catch him on a minor detail.

You must be proud

2. Confused
So, what is our stance on Liberia? I understand why B*sh is a hippocrite and going to Iraq to "protect" the people and not Liberia, but what is the general stance of the people here..

should be go to Liberia with our military??

From what I've seen the UN has not sent a protective army there, wouldn't us going there be a bad thing.. i.e. unilateral again?
