Venezuela Has One of the Fastest Growing Telecom Industries in Latin America
Source: BUSINESS WIRE

DUBLIN, Ireland, Aug 05, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Research and Markets ( http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/236af3/venezuela_teleco) has announced the addition of the "Venezuela - Telecoms Market Statistics & Forecasts" report to their offering.
Venezuela's high GDP per capita contrasts with low fixed-line teledensity and scant broadband penetration, indicating that there is considerable room for growth in both these two sectors. In fact, promising plans are being implemented to improve the country's fixed-line and broadband infrastructure. The mobile sector, though nearing saturation, is likely to experience a lift from the rollout of GSM networks by the two major mobile operators. Nevertheless, destabilisation of the political and economic balance could reverse this positive outlook. This report contains statistics and scenario forecasts for the country's fixed-line, mobile, and broadband markets for the years 2012 and 2017.

3. LOL!
It's that other "surge". The one where every nation on the planet surges forwards. While we surge backwards.
