Argentina 'dirty war' suspects to federal prisons
The Associated Press
Published: July 31, 2008

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina: Argentina's Justice Ministry has ordered that all suspects accused of human rights abuses be transferred to federal prisons in the wake of a high-profile jailbreak.

The Federal Penitentiary Service has 48 hours to transfer from local jails all suspects in Argentina's "dirty war," a government crackdown in the 1970s and 80s on suspected dissidents and leftist guerrillas.

Former Lt. Col. Julian Corres escaped from a jail in Bahia Blanca on Saturday. He is under investigation for his role running a secret detention center during this country's dictatorship of 1976-83.

1. It's taken 20+ years...but they MUST be brought to justice....
...the same as this f*cking moron in the White House and his crime family must be brought to justice. I don't care if we get the SOB with impeachment or war crimes...so long as justice is served. cheney, undoubtedly, will drop dead before we get him, but hell is waiting for the son of a bitch.

2. It took Argentina far longer than you'd expect due to the fact Pres. Carlos Menem, Bush family
friend, who drove Argentina right into the ditch, chose to give all the Argentinian Dirty War monsters immunity from prosecution, and that immunity wasn't withdrawn until very late in the game! I think the President who reversed that criminal decision was Nestor Kirchner, who, himself, had been imprisoned and tortured by these maggot bastards.
