Gallup Daily: Obama Retains Lead, 48% to 41%
Source: Gallup

PRINCETON, NJ -- Barack Obama has stretched his lead over John McCain among national registered
voters to seven percentage points, 48% to 41% in Gallup Poll Daily tracking conducted July 23-25.

Notably, Obama's current seven-point lead over McCain ties his widest lead since the start of Gallup
Poll Daily tracking of the general election in early march ...

You keep hearing nonsense about the race tightening and McCain drawing within 1 or 2 percentage
points. Well, here is a poll that suggests otherwise.

Edited on Sat Jul-26-08 11:58 PM by Jack Rabbit
. . . that really means Obama by 12 or 13.

2. How do Obama's numbers compared to Kerry vs Bush during July of 2004?
I am curious.

3. McSame drawing close
Obama's support is like an incoming tide, and the rethugs are doing their best to beat it back with small brooms.

5. Here's an analogy a guy (A Naval Officer) I work with used...
...Obama's support is like a fire that the Republicans are trying to extinguish with ice picks. I rolled on the floor laughing. Kinda messed up my whites (Summer uniform) in the process.

7. Hey! I was a liberal sailor too!
I served from 1987 to 1997. I was one of only 2 people on my ship to vote for Bill Clinton in 1996. Trust me, I took a lot of flack for it but I stood my ground. :patriot:

8. I think you would find "calmer seas" today as an Obama supporter...
At my command for example, it's pretty much split down the middle. A far cry from what it used to be like. :patriot: back atcha!

12. McCain's Voting Record
Thank you for your service.

From your conversations with your fellow troops, can you tell if they are aware of how often the very wealthy McCain has voted against various benefits for our troops while trying to take credit for those that passed despite him?

15. Honestly, not many are "versed" on either of their voting records...
...but then again, most will watch the debates and make up their minds then. Not much time for anything else.

9. when you add in Barr and Nadar to the mix,...
Edited on Sun Jul-27-08 02:54 AM by webDude
...from what I remember, on The Daily Show, it showed something like Obama-48%, McCain-32%, with Barr and Nadar taking the rest. Why do we not see more about this combo, there are 4 candidates, including the Green party and the Libertarian party?

10. k*r That means about a 15% lead since it's Gallup.
Edited on Sun Jul-27-08 04:03 AM by autorank
The head of that organization said that he felt Gallup was doing God's work.
What an ass. Can you see God doing interviews, I mean seriously.

In any event, the one poll I believe was the ARG poll about 6 weeks ago where Bush was at 18% approval.

Here's another one by them:

July 21, 2008
Bush Job Approval Ratings
7/19/08 ***App ***Dis. ***Und.
Overall ***21% ***72% ***7%
Economy **17% **77% ***6%

So Gallup's latest 31% is jacked up about 10%.

13. Generally Reliable Poll Info
For polling data, I like Real Clear Politics because it presents a variety of polls and then gives an average. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/polls. FiveThirtyEight is good, too. http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/search/label/today%27s%20polls That gives the electoral vote projection, too, not only the popular vote. And the format gives a lot of info in one glance, in a format that is very easy to grasp at a glance. Both sites go well beyond just the Presidential race.
