At Least 12 Killed in Bombings in Northern Iraq
Edited on Sat Jan-31-04 10:03 AM by gristy
3 Americans and 9 Iraqis. It has become apparent to me that the only way to secure Iraq is to 1) have the army close its borders, 2) aggressively attack all those in the country who seek to destabilize the existing power structure in Iraq (i.e. the Americans), as well as those who associate with them, 3) use the military courts to the full extent of our law to "try" these folks and lock them up! 4) "interrogate" them to find out who their accomplices are.

Yeah, that will do it. Only then can we say we have freed the Iraqis from terror :eyes:. And only then will Bush and his cabal have finished lowering themselves to the level of Hussein. :(

MOSUL, Iraq (AP) -- A car bomb targeting a police station in Iraq's third largest city killed nine people and injured 45 others Saturday, while three American soldiers died when a roadside bomb ripped through their convoy near the oil-rich city of Kirkuk.

Witnesses in Mosul, Iraq's major northern city, said what appeared to be a suicide attacker drove through a security barricade in front of the police station before blowing up his vehicle outside the building. Officials confirmed a car bomb but wouldn't say if it was a suicide attack.

In Kirkuk, a homemade bomb exploded as a 4th Infantry Division convoy passed by about 25 miles southwest of the city Saturday, killing the three soldiers, the U.S. military said. The deaths raised to 522 the number of U.S. soldiers killed in the Iraq conflict.
