Republicans Satisfied With Bush's Silence in Face of Criticism
WASHINGTON, Jan. 30 — Despite relentless attacks against President Bush from the Democrats running to replace him, Republican state party leaders said on Friday that they agreed with the White House's campaign strategy of having the president concentrate on running the country instead of responding to the criticism.

"The most important thing is what he does, rather than engage in partisan debate," said George Sundheim, the California Republican chairman, who was attending the Republican National Committee's winter meeting here.

"The president has a positive message, which is what he's doing as president," Mr. Sundheim said. "That's what people are paying attention to. It'll be great for him to get out there, but now the most important thing to help him win is to be presidential."

Jayne Millerick, the New Hampshire party chairwoman, agreed, saying: "He's doing absolutely what he needs to do. I don't see any rush for him to respond to the Democrats. His actions speak louder that any of their campaign rhetoric. His actions show him as a positive leader."

1. Uhhhh, yeah, his actions speak louder, alright.
They'll be talking plenty loud enough, if he's not careful...

2. His actions..............
show him as a inept, pompous buffoon. It all depends on one's point of view I suppose.
I don't think too many people, other than rabid BushBots, are buying this "presidential" bullshit anymore. More and more lately I think he's coming across as the slow, dimwitted figurehead that is in reality what he is.
Republicans are just more than a little scared at this point, so they don't have anything else to say about him. They know it doesn't look good for the Chimp in November, but not having anyone else to turn to for leadership or the nomination, are sticking like a herpes sore to the IdiotBoy hoping they can bullshit their way into another four years.
The American public, as slow and dimwitted as they are as well, have finally caught on and aren't buying into this "presidential" crap anymore.

3. He's being a big help
to us. Maybe our message is getting out. Everytime he opens his mouth lately the gems have been astounding: go to the moon, immigration policy, opps the Medicare bill is going to cost billions more, WMD's? He's trying and showing just how disconnected he is is to the people. He looks more and more like a nutcase.

So what alien life form dumped their trash on earth again?

Quote from dumbasses:
"It'll be great for him to get out there, but now the most important thing to help him win is to be presidential."

"His actions show him as a positive leader."

Some positive leader. You would think a positive leader would answer questions. Same goes for you POS Dick LAMEy. You dodged the questions from that Italian reporter last week.

Twisted repuke logic:

stay silent like the chickenshit you are = positive leader

Brought to you by the same dumbasses who came up with this:

increasing attacks on coalition soldiers = more success for coalition soldiers

Now I've seen it all.

Better start rehearsing the answers for the tribunal you POS.

When you're serving out a life sentence for crimes against humanity I promise to send you one of those fake "hero dolls" wearing that flight suit that so many repukes ran out and bought.

You wouldn't be able to turn on the TV without some kind of attack against Clinton and his administration. America...you are getting the government you apathetic sheeple deserve!

16. Does anyone really believe he's engaged in running the country?
"they agreed with the White House's campaign strategy of having the president concentrate on running the country instead of responding to the criticism."

So, he doesn't have time to respond to criticism about this colossal failure, yet he can spend an inordiante amount of time at his fundraisers and go to Crawford every other weekend?

17. A stone wall with surrogates doing the attacking has worked well
so far so they are sticking to that strategy. If they don't answer a story it has gone away every time so far, so if a plan works why change it.

20. Bush is silent because he's inept.
Edited on Sat Jan-31-04 01:41 PM by Barkley
The media really goes out of its way to make
Bush look like a master of strategy.

What's the president's "positive message" for the
record number of people whose unemployment insurance
is about to expire?

... 1000 new jobs in December?!?!?!

What positive message has he sent to the 70,000 CA.
grocery workers who are striking to keep their healthcare?

What postive message has he sent to the 130,000 troops in Iraq?

...."Bring 'em on" until 2030!?!?!

Bush is overwhelmed and out of touch that's why he is silent.
