SF Chron: Clinton and Senate Democrats meet on agenda
Former President Clinton huddled with Senate Democrats Thursday to discuss how best to unite the party as it draws up its agenda for this legislative year and prepares for the presidential election this fall.

Senate Democratic leader Tom Daschle of South Dakota said earlier this week that he had asked Clinton to give his thoughts "on how we might work more closely together" as Democrats pursue such issues as education, health care, a higher minimum wage and the economy.

"How we address them, how we articulate them and how we mesh that agenda with our presidential candidate will be the topic for conversation with President Clinton," Daschle said.

While Clinton was meeting with Democrats in a Senate office building, congressional Republicans were traveling to Philadelphia for a strategy session for the coming year. President Bush is to join his fellow Republicans there on Saturday, two days before he is to offer Congress his 2005 budget proposals.

2. Good! Maybe some inspiring leadership and common sense will get
them involved in taking their rightful place in the balance of power equation! Ted Kennedy and Robert Byrd are great, but they have to work far to hard for gents their age. They could use some help getting the rest of the dems moving towards saving the nation.

This news just might help me get some sleep tonight!

And Clinton in DC has gotta give a lot of piggies some serious heartburn. heh heh heh

4. Hardly necessary....
Surely, there was sufficient time for installation of electronic monitoring equipment while the anthrax was being removed.

6. I know this won't be popular to say.....
...but I think its ironic coming from a man who built the last 6 years of his presidency on the idea of "triangulation" counseling Democrats to work together on a common agenda.

When he was president, Clinton seemed more interested in running away from the party(except when he needed them during impeachment)than in building the party up. Now, 4 years late, he's advising a unified stand.

Simply amazing.
