OPEC president: Oil could soon hit $170
Source: Associated Press

PARIS - Crude oil prices will likely rise to between $150 and $170 a barrel this summer, OPEC President Chakib Khelil was quoted as telling a French television station.

Khelil, in an interview with France 24, said much would depend on the European Central Bank's policy on the euro, as well as whether the West puts more pressure on major oil producer Iran over its contested nuclear program.

"I foresee prices probably between $150 and $170 this summer," Khelil was quoted as saying in an interview transcript made available Thursday. "That will probably decline a bit toward the end of the year."

Oil futures rose sharply almost immediately after Khelil's comment, along with emerging reports that Libya may cut oil production.

6. Enron screwed $100bn out of California.....
.... You have to wonder how much Big Oil is looting from us this time around.

And what's the common thread connecting these two huge thefts?

The Bush / Cheney axis of evil.

10. Let's strike a major oil company to extinction!
Edited on Thu Jun-26-08 05:50 PM by RedCloud
What have we got to lose?

They don't care how we suffer. They knew this day was coming decades ago and stood by blocking all efforts to do anything else.

I think we need to clobber these oil companies, so let's randomly select one after enough people agree to bash one to extinction.

Why should we be a bunch of passive consumers? Let's organize and strike fear into their hearts. Once they know consumers are NOT mindless robots whom they can readily seduce or predict by their formulas, they will have to change.

When they see one of their evil clan pushing up daisies, then they will stop to at least think.

I suggest targeting a car manufacturer next for not anticipating this day, blocking any efforts to put practical non-gasoline vehicles into service and let that company have it.

We should not have to pay for their primitive cave man approach to our transportation needs.
