Bush congratulates Obama on Democratic nomination
Source: Reuters

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President George W. Bush offered his congratulations to Sen. Barack Obama for securing the Democratic presidential nomination, White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said on Wednesday.

"President Bush congratulates Sen. Obama for clinching the Democratic party's 2008 nomination for president," Perino told reporters. "He knows from personal experience that the presidential nominating process is a grueling one and Sen. Obama came a long way in becoming his party's nominee."

1. Maybe the new Republican strategy is to have Bush back Obama.
That would probably hurt Obama more than Bush backing McCain.

4. He probably tried but was put on hold
and told to wait his turn because the well wisher line was pretty long.

Accepting a bush call is probably not high on Obama's list at this time.
