U.S. Treasury Mailed $7.091 Billion in First Week of Federal Stimulus Package
Source: Canadian Economic Press

The U.S. Treasury Department said it mailed $7.091 billion in tax rebates cheques to 7.708 million Americans between April 28 and May 2 in the first week of the government's fiscal stimulus package.

Treasury also promised to release weekly financial statements outlining the payments.

According to treasury officials, the $146 billion dollar fiscal stimulus package approved by Congress in January will be responsible for adding between 500,000 and 600,000 jobs in 2008 and adding around 0.5% to U.S. GDP growth.

5. Mine's going into savings
That won't stimulate the economy either.

The only economy being stimulated is China's, from all the interest they're earning for loaning the money to Bush.
