1. Whatttttt?
From the article:
Halliburton (NYSE:HAL - news) on Friday said it issued a check for $6.3 million to its customer, the Army Materiel Command, to cover potential overbilling charges by a subcontractor.

How nice that they can make a payment and the problem disappears.

Back when I was involved in racing, the drivers were required to attend a meeting before the event. If they missed it they were fined. One driver came to a meeting with his checkbook and asked how much to write the check for, because he was going to miss most meetings. THe money meant nothing to him. I betcha it's the same with Halliburton.

Pisses me off.

I believe that now you have to start at the end of the field if you miss the mandatory drivers meeting....

4. $6.3 million is what percentage of their billion dollar contracts?
This little fine is just the cost of doing business. That's the ethics these corporations push, maximum profits and at any cost even illegal behavior. If you get caught just pay the fine. It's cheaper that way. And of course our government not only accepts that attitude it promotes it. Cheney was such a good businessman.

Corporate greedy bastards.
