Cheney vows to finish job in Iraq
Source: BBC

The US will complete its mission in Iraq to ensure the country does not become a base for attacks on Americans, Vice-President Dick Cheney has said.

Mr Cheney is on a visit to Iraq and the Middle East coinciding with the fifth anniversary of the US-led invasion of Iraq, launched on 20 March, 2003.

His visit comes as a major conference to promote national reconciliation has been thrown into disarray.

The main Sunni Arab bloc and a major Shia group are boycotting the meeting.

I can longer tell when Cheney is just lying, or when he's lying and delusional.

Does Gepetto sound like he's going to be ready to move out next January? Or is he planning to share an office with Don Rumsfeld in some half-forgotten Pentagon cubbyhole, and keep pulling the strings to his web from there?

I wouldn't bet on McSameAsBu**sh** to hurry DDDDDick out of his lair.

7. The question that I have is, if the Bush Administration runs out in Jan 09, how does...
Cheney come off talking about finishing anything? Unless, they have no plan on turning power over to anyone else.

10. They will sign agreements that will bind the US for decades
to come. The right wing think tank guys talk about this all the time now. Just because there is a new president doesn't mean that we won't be obliged to honor the agreements with them.

28. Bush has thrown out prior agreements we've signed
What would actually keep the next president from saying "sorry, but this plan is now null and void" and will no longer be honored.

Baring Congress signing off on anything I fail to see how Bush can put his successor into a binding contract with Iraq.

27. Why doesn't he stay
there more than one night and not go fishing in the Gulf?....Let him do some fishing in the Tigris or Euphrates near Baghdad if he's that interested in fishing...By the way, send him outside the Green Zone with out his Kevlar vest with Chicken Plates, no Up Armored Hummers and weapons that are flat worn out from use....Or he could go where I served, in the wastelands far from any other US facility or support on a very small Firebase in Afghanistan..... Let him play or fish there for awhile. Hey the Afghan governor I worked with brought and cooked fish for us that he caught out of the Helmand River. He did that a couple of times. Those fish were nasty tasting too, but we ate them. It's not often I can say that I was fed by an Afghan Warlord/Governor and watched as he cooked for me and my team....Send Dick there please!

29. ... by starting another war in Iran!
One of the more popular ways to get away with a really big crime is to obscure it by starting an even bigger problem somewhere else. Where, I wonder, could that somewhere else be?
