Report Shows No Link Between Saddam and al Qaeda (pdf link to full report)
Edited on Thu Mar-13-08 03:55 PM by tpsbmam
Source: ABC News

ABC News has requested and obtained a copy of the Pentagon study which shows Saddam Hussein had no links to Al Qaeda.

(READ THE FULL REPORT HERE.)
http://a.abcnews.com/images/pdf/Pentagon_Report_V1.pdf

It's government report the White House didn't want you to read: yesterday the Pentagon canceled plans to send out a press release announcing the report's availability and didn't make the report available via email or online.

Based on the analysis of some 600,000 official Iraqi documents seized by US forces after the invasion and thousands of hours of interrogations of former officials in Saddam's government now in US custody, the government report is the first official acknowledgment from the US military that there is no evidence Saddam had ties to al Qaeda.

The Bush administration apparently didn't want the study to get any attention. The report was to be posted on the Joint Forces Command website yesterday, followed by a background briefing with the authors. No more. The report was made available to those who asked for it, and was sent via overnight mail from Joint Forces Command in Norfolk, Virginia.

1. Obviously
In the lead up to Iraq the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation had hours and hours of analysis - people from the middle east, middle eastern studies professors, defense alalysts, representatives of other ME governments, UN Reps, present and former weapons inspectors etc., and they couldn't find anyone at all (unless they came from the Bush administration)who believed for a second there was a link between Iraq and 9/11, that there were terrorist orginaizations operating in Iraq or that Hussein had WMDs.

That's um...why Canada didn't go

2. Obvious to you and to those who read.....
but sadly not obvious to the vast majority of ill-informed Americans. Here's one poll example (from 2003):

http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2003-09-06-poll-iraq_x.htm

Poll: 70% believe Saddam, 9-11 link
WASHINGTON (AP) — Nearly seven in 10 Americans believe it is likely that ousted Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein was personally involved in the Sept. 11 attacks, says a poll out almost two years after the terrorists' strike against this country.

And as recently as 2006 about half of Americans still had their heads up their asses:

Half of American voters (50%) say there is no link between Saddam Hussein and the 9/11 terror attacks, while 46% believe there is a connection. However, just 37% of respondents in the poll agreed that Saddam was connected to the attacks and that the Iraq War was justified as retribution for his involvement, while 48% believed that there is no connection between Saddam and 9/11 and the Iraq War has diverted America’s attention from the War on Terror.

How embarrassing.

4. This was known and well documented before Bush even took office
The only thing new is that the media has stopped propagating the Junta's many lies.

Saddam headed the Ba'athist Party, which was very strongly secular and most definitely modernist. As such, he was denounced by more religious groups even more than was the United States; we were merely tools of Shaitan who didn't know any better; secularist Muslims were heretics and apostates trying to spread the outright destruction of Islam. That al-Qaida and similar groups would seek to ally with him was as likely as the extremist Talibangelical wing of the Southern Baptist Convention making common cause with Richard Dawkins.

5. Bush perjured himself. He signed a sworn document tesifying Iraq was linked to 9/11...
as part of the precondition to Congress authorizing him to use force.

No way! Get outta here! Who said that? Who? :wow:

Me thinks that the pentagon is a little late with this news, as we approach the 4000 mark for soldiers killed in Iraq.

11. This study was commissioned by the Norfolk-based U.S. Joint Forces Command
"and conducted by the command's Suffolk-based Joint Center for Operational Analyses and Lessons Learned."

www.dailypress.com/news/local/newsletter/dp-local_iraq_0314mar14,0,1061485.story

I've been meaning to post the local headlines (in this military area) of this report:

" Study outlines link between Iraq, terrorist groups"

Seriously, that fucking misleading statement was the local headline!! It was worded so as to appease the illerate knuckle draggers around here who wanna still believe this $4 trillion, 4000+ deaths war is worth it. Just their usual tactics.

And I know most small town newspapers never published a word of or about the report.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!
