Black Students Walk Out on Jeb Bush Speech at Florida A&M
A group of students walked out during a speech by Florida Governor Jeb Bush given in observance of the death of Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. A spokesman for the group said Bush's views are so much in contrast with those of Dr King that they were forced to protest his presence at Florida A&M. In typical Bush reaction, Bush replied "It doesn't bother me a bit".

1. But he WILL hunt them down and destroy them.
The Bush skin is only thick when it comes to other people's pain and humiliation.

9. george will never let jebbie be president
what if jebbie did a better job? w's not going to let that happen in a million years.

more than likely why they pushed for billy frist, whose family owns a chain of hospitals that provides abortion on demand, in the senate majority role.

12. As they should. Frist is making a killing on the Medicare bill
That was his sole purpose for being placed in his role was to push the Medicare fiasco. His HMOs stand to make billions

16. A brain , but no heart, and no soul, and no feelings for anyone
except himself. The world would be a better place if he were privatized to far west Texas.

6. GO Florida A&M....STAND UP against racism and WAR...
Edited on Mon Jan-19-04 06:28 PM by amen1234

"They contrasted Bush's position with King's on affirmative action, racism and war and chastised the governor for not restoring the voting rights to black voters who were erroneously purged from the rolls prior to the 2000 presidential election."

These are brave, brave students.....however, it saddens me greatly that more young people would not join them....too many accepted the lies that jeb shoved at them, and just sat there...that is the entire reason-in-a-nutshell that the bushies are getting away with their hitler-esque destruction of OUR country....everyone is just sitting there, just like the Germans did in 1938.....

if not YOU, who?

if not NOW, when?

8. Why is it taking so long...
to correct the polls and restore people's voting rights? He's had over three years, and in that time, his brother has managed to launch two wars, give massive tax cuts to the rich, and trample our rights as citizens. Did he think he'd be welcome?

11. I cheer the students who --
-- walked out on ol' Jeb. If they walked out on principle that his policies frustrate Dr. King's vision, so much the better -- they're right to think so.

I would also applaud them for walking out if they were bored to bits listening to Jeb talk. He's charisma-challenged.

13. Black students walked out at FAMU?
That would be pretty much all of them... Florida A&M is traditionally a black school. I know this is a fact because I visited the campus often while attending Florida State University which is also in Tallahassee. So who the hell was Jeb talking to?

18. He's such a creep
This is like Tim McVeigh showing up at the dedication of the new Federal Building in OK.

One of the images burned forever in my mind from 2000 are the stunned faces of FAMU students on Election Day, when they found out that their votes had been stolen from them. For Jeb to return to the scene of the crime is despicable -- and typical.

Compared to Jeb, George W is a fuzzy pussycat. Jeb is fully Barbara's spawn. Jeb is the bigger bastard.

He's been systematically dismantling civil rights in FL for years. Today, he was just rubbing black faces in his power.

Gee -- do black people *really* think that they're going to be able to vote this year in FL? If no one is planning against this now, it WILL happen again.

19. "It doesn't bother me a bit"
.says the jebster. Of course he really means it because BFEE is completely insensitive to any other needs but their own, or their rich friends. And besides that, he can always disenfranchise them at the polls so it really doesn't bother him one bit.

"Who cares what you think"
