Daschle Says Seniors Getting Propaganda
snip.....

Daschle was reacting to a two-page fact sheet that Health and Human Services Department officials said would be the basis of a letter sent to 40 million older and disabled Americans who participate in the government health insurance program.

The material generally contains details about the Medicare drug discount card that will be available later this year and the prescription drug benefit that begins in 2006. The fact sheet begins, however, with a preamble that provoked Daschle's ire.

"Recently, President Bush and Congress worked together to pass a new law to bring people with Medicare more choices in health care coverage and better health care benefits," the fact sheet says. "This new law preserves and strengthens the current Medicare program."

Daschle, D-S.D., challenged just about every word in those sentences. "This is just a piece of propaganda that I believe has no business being paid for by the American taxpayer," he said from Sioux Falls, S.D., in an interview with several reporters.

4. Good for anthraxed Daschle!!
Hey, you guys, give credit where credit is due!!

That "announcement" is almost word for word what my Repug congressman said. He probably helped write it. PURE PROPAGANDA, or bull*** if you prefer, and I thank Daschle for pointing this out!!

Send him a nice e-mail.

5. I gotta say....
While I don't agree with him on some rather serious isseus....on the issue of prescription drug coverage and social security in general, he has been commendably tenacious.

Last Sunday he visited my town of 8000 in Western South Dakota and spoke to the audience about the fallacies of the prescription drug coverage "plan". Suffice it to say he didn't pull any punches.

He is currently criss crossing the state holding such meetings. Interestingly his message is hitting home in spite of the fact that the vast majority of the audience in my community is Republican. Predictably the standard pharmco shills were in the audience doing there best to discredit him with inanities and misdirection during the question and answer session. Their words were not well received, many in the audience hissed and booed them. Good to see the generally pliant populace of my state is beginning to pull their heads outa their asses.
