14. Unbelievable
Why the fuck would senators like Jack Reed and Tom Carper vote against this? I don't live in their states but I'm inclined to believe that the majority of people in Rhode Island and Delaware think the war is bullshit. What the fuck is their problem?

I see my worthless senator Bill Nelson let me down again. Asshole.

Sick. I feel utterly sick.

16. The Surge is working
It's doing so-so in Baghad but fantastic in DC.

This war could have been ended between January and June this year. It was so unpopular when the casualty rate was sky-high, climbing and with no end in sight. There were at least a half dozen Republicans against it and about twice that many getting ready to bail, too.

But, for some strange reason that escapes me totally, the Congress did nothing. Absolutely nothing. As if Bush's approval ratings were in the 80s then. The situation was in collapse mode. Yet... yet ... yet...

I'm so pissed. It was betrayal of this country, nothing less.

13. What the fuck is the matter with these people?
The Republicans are, of course, a bunch of mindless followers who will march in lockstep with President Dumbass. But any Democrat who voted against this is a damn disgrace.

Weird how that old geezer McCain was able to show up to add his fucking "Nay" vote yet none of the Democratic presidential candidates could make time for this.

Fuck them all.

Without splitting hairs on the numbers or whether I missed someone, looks to me like 26 voted against an end to the war or didn't bother to vote. That's over half the Democratic Senators.

It's like waking up in a nightmare and finding most of your party is on the other side or doesn't give a damn anymore.

10. I'm so pissed with Levin and relieved by Stabenow over this
Stabenow's made a lot of shitty votes (usually just following Levin, since he's the senior senator), but Levin's really dropped the bomb term, and I constantly get emails begging to send him money for his tough reelection bid - does he not understand what a load of crap that is?

As for the senators who are running for president: now will you people believe me that you could care less about what you want and what really matters to you? What shit. I would say that anyone who would vote for one of them deserves what they get, but no one deserves that.
