Republican hopefuls squabble over Bush foreign policy

by Laurent Thomet 1 hour, 1 minute ago

WASHINGTON (AFP) - Republican White House contender Mike Huckabee refused to apologize Sunday after a rival accused him of insulting President George W. Bush by describing US foreign policy as "arrogant."

Huckabee butted heads with former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney after publishing an article calling for American foreign policy to change its "tone and attitude, open up, and reach out."

"The Bush administration's arrogant bunker mentality has been counterproductive at home and abroad," the former Arkansas governor wrote in the journal Foreign Affairs.

"My administration will recognize that the United States' main fight today does not pit us against the world but pits the world against the terrorists," said Huckabee.

2. No shit
and, as someone here said with regard to ambassador Bolton, "I'm pretty sure that 'diplomat' is not a synonym for 'asshole.'"

3. Romney knows that Wingnuts eact negatively to ANY criticism...
It does not matter if the criticism is valid or not (as in this case, it is), all wingnuts are incapable of self-criticism. Only OTHER people can be wrong.

Romney, though not a wingnut by blood, knows how to make them salivate. Attacking Huck for attacking Bush (whom wingnuts put into office and must therefore defend) is the way to wingnuts drool.
