U.S. wants more pressure on Iran
Source: CNN

MANAMA, Bahrain (CNN) -- U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates has called on the international community to step up pressure on Iran to vow not to develop nuclear weapons, suspend uranium enrichment and open up its nuclear facilities for inspection.

Gates' address to a Gulf states' security conference Saturday came a day after Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told reporters at a NATO meeting in Belgium that the United States will continue to push for a new U.N. resolution to pressure Iran to halt its nuclear program.

Gates sarcastically noted that Iran celebrated the U.S. intelligence community's recent report -- the National Intelligence Estimate -- that said Iran suspended its nuclear weapons program in 2003. He said it marks a "watershed" that "Iran has, for the first time, embraced as valid an assessment of the United States intelligence community -- on Iran's nuclear weapons program."

He said "since that government now acknowledges the quality of American intelligence assessments, I assume that it also will embrace as valid American intelligence assessments" that Iran is funding and training of militia groups in Iraq; deploying lethal weapons and technology to both Iraq and Afghanistan; supporting terrorist organizations -- like Hezbollah and Hamas -- that have murdered thousands of innocent civilians; and continued research and development of medium-range ballistic missiles that can carry weapons of mass destruction.

So NOW the message is ... stop Iran from RESTARTING its nuclear program, "if it has not done so already"?!? These guys just got caught lying about Iran having a program in the first place, but they don't pause a beat -- they're out there fearmongering against a POSSIBLE, FUTURE program, and taking the line that the NIE largely CONFIRMS everything they had to say! Far from backing off, they want to INTENSIFY efforts against Iran. It's like admitting the dog didn't eat their homework after all, but they deserve an "A" because, in their opinion, they did a good job on it!

2. The Bushies have the nazi startegy down perfectly: behave as if you haven't been busted.
Then, if you finish the day not arrested or in chains, what you did was "legal".

It works. After seventy years, it still works as well as when the strategy was freshly-minted and cutting edge.

4. A message to the rest of the world
Please do not listen to anyone in this administration about anything they tell you. The people in this administration are pathological liars and will lie to you even when telling the truth is easier. They represent everything that is reprehensible! Their goal is not to bring democracy to your country nor is it for the safety of the United States that they are doing these things. They are doing it to further their own agenda of world domination and wealth distribution. That is to say, no distribution of wealth beyond their inner circle of elitists(Ass-holes).

They do not represent the wishes of a vast majority of the American people. The American people desperately want peace and understanding around the world. We have no desire to force our "democracy" on you nor do we want you to fear us. We, The People, would rather that you respect us for the humanitarian good we can do with only a portion of the money that this rogue regime has spent to gain control of your oil. We want to respect you and establish a REAL fair trade agreement that will benefit all countries, rich and poor.

We, The People, are deeply sorry for the carnage that has been visited upon your country and we The People don't know how to fix what has been done. It seems as though our "leaders" do not care to fix what they have done, rather they are raiding our treasury, treasury of borrowed money, to fill the pockets of their corporate sponsors, and one can only imagine that money is being shoveled back in to the politicians pockets as well.

We The People of the United States are struggling to regain the freedoms guaranteed to us by our founding fathers and the rogue administration is doing everything they can to see that those freedoms never be restored. No matter what they have to do be it "disappearing" people off the streets of the U.S. and "rendering" them to foreign countries to be tortured or by the use of signing statements to install yourself as emperor over the masses.

The foreign community can help us with this endeavor somewhat. You can get word to us through the press, or better yet, through the internet when you see atrocities committed in our name. When you are aware of a secret prison in your area or by simply letting us know what the U.S. is doing in your part of the world. You see, here we have what is called the main Stream Media and it is controlled (Much like Pravda was) by the neocons who are allowed to own these media outlets and read their version of the truth and their version only.

We, as a nation, are good and decent people who want to live peacefully with the rest of the world. Don't get me wrong. It just seems that this rogue regime will not uphold their sworn duty to the Constitution of The United States. I have read that the so called leader of this administration has said, "Stop throwing the Constitution in my face. It's just a goddamned piece of paper". How sad I feel for my country and yours.

5. International community responds, "P*** off and go f*** yourself, U.S.!"
Surely Gates' time would be better spent breeding death's-head moths in his basement.

The Bush administration still thinks it has the moral credibility to call on anyone to do anything? Amazing.
