http://news.yahoo.com/s/csm/20071206/ts_csm/abreak05...........A key finding is that "the voters are extremely angry this year," Mr. Zogby said. "We see very high numbers there.
angry at the political system. They are angry at Congress. They are angry at the president of the United States. That includes Democrats, sizable numbers of Democrats who are angry at Congress, and a sizable number of Republicans who are angry at the president."
...Zogby's research confirms that finding. "What we have seen since August, late August, is the beginnings of what I call Iraq fatigue," Zogby said. "Not because it is an unimportant issue, but because voters are confused on the resolution of the issue… Iraq used to be cited as top of mind by 56 to 60 percent… It is now about 28 percent as the No. 1 issue."
.........Tracking what voters think about Oprah and other topics is getting harder for pollsters. "The biggest challenge is ... that people aren't answering the telephones," Zogby said. "The national and statewide response rates are low – some as low as 16 to 17 percent… That is often what I get. Some are reporting 6 or 7 percent response rates.... When I started in the business in 1984, it was 65 percent."
While the national "do not call" list does not apply to pollsters, Zogby said it has empowered those contacted by polling firms to refuse to answer questions. His poll was conducted Nov. 29 through Dec. 1 in Iowa, and Dec. 1-3 in New Hampshire.
