Morgan Stanley's top woman leaves
Source: BBC News

Morgan Stanley has announced that co-president Zoe Cruz is to retire, a move seen by analysts as the latest casualty of the US sub-prime crisis.

The investment bank, which earlier this month revealed a $3.7bn (£1.76bn) loss from US sub-prime mortgage exposure, said Ms Cruz would leave on Saturday.

The 52-year-old had previously been touted as a successor to current chief executive John Mack.

Morgan is just the latest bank to part with senior figures in recent weeks.

1. Prediction:
this company is about to keel over. I've seen some current numbers on their exposure to the subprime lending crisis. They have 5 times more in subprime loans than their current equity.

= they're finished.

2. Another sure sign they're about to fold -
Watch for big bonuses. Massive "payouts", like a Xmas bonus to the directors, or $1 billion dollars each. As the company bleeds financially.

You will know they're pulling an "Enron" looting the coffers before it's too late.

4. Basically who cares?
Did co-president Cruz leave with the usual 'package'? Will she, like her male counterparts, be headed off to another multi-million bonus job? Oh dear! Morgan Stanley is hurting! Good. What pains Wall Steet makes me smile.
