Labor increases poll lead (Australian election)
Source: ABC Australia

The latest Newspoll shows the Coalition still has not managed to close the gap on Labor, with just two weeks to go until polling day.

The survey published in The Australian newspaper today gives Labor 55 per cent of the two-party preferred vote, up two points, and the Coalition 45 per cent.

The Coalition's primary vote dropped two points to 40 per cent, while Labor rose one point to 48 per cent.

Labor leader Kevin Rudd has increased his lead as preferred prime minister by one point to lead by 48 per cent to 40 per cent.

Two weeks to go. Labor and Rudd hold a 10 point lead in the latest polls. This is the same margin as polls have shown all year. If translated to the election it is bye bye Johnnie. Fingers and everything else crossed that this margin will hold.

Peace

1. Really? I haven't paid attention to this election lately
I didn't know Howard was down. I will be doing cartwheels if he goes.

2. You and everyone else "down under," mate
Fingers crossed he's even edged out of his own seat to boot. That said, as an Aussie, I won't be celebrating unless a third party (= The Greens) pick up more seats in the senate.
