"State Rep. Bob Allen peered over a stall in a public park restroom to show his interest in soliciting sex from an undercover police officer, a prosecutor said in opening arguments in the lawmaker's trial Wednesday.

Allen sat emotionlessly as prosecutor Pat Whitaker described how the lawmaker eventually followed the male officer into the same stall, where Allen said the restroom was too public of a place. The lawmaker suggested "across the bridge," saying "it's quiet over there," and then agreed to pay $20 for oral sex, Whitaker said.

"You're not a cop, are you?" Allen asked the officer, according to Whitaker.

Defense attorney Greg Eisenmenger later countered that Allen never solicited sex and that it was the officer who asked for $20 in exchange for oral sex."

1. The ridiculousness of his defense astounds me.

He went to the restroom, came out of the restroom and to a park bench, went to toward the restroom again, to follow "scary black guy", when said "scary black guy" came out of the restroom, Allen decided he didn't need to go, and went back to the bench. When scary black guy goes back to the restroom, Allen FOLLOWS HIM IN THERE, then, he enters the fucking stall with him.

Does all this sound like the actions of someone who is frightened of somebody? If he was scared, he should have gone to his car and LEFT the first time. But, he went back to the restroom twice.

Does he really expect anybody to believe him?

3. Rep. Bob Allen found guilty of soliciting prostitution

"A jury today found state Rep. Bob Allen guilty of soliciting sex from an undercover police officer in July.

The jury deliberated 3 1/2 hours before finding him guilty of agreeing to pay $20 to perform a sex act on the officer. The charge is a second-degree misdemeanor punishable by up to 60 days in the county jail and a $500 fine.

Allen, R-Merritt Island, did not take the stand in his own defense. He vehemently denied the charges as he left the courthouse.

"I am innocent. I've done nothing wrong and my family, my God and my good constituents know that,'' said the Merritt Island Republican."

4. You know, it's just a damn shame

How unfortunate that Mr. Allen's family, God and good constituents weren't sitting in judgment of him, instead of some activist, liberal judge.

Note to Mr. Allen: When you're found guilty in a court of law after a fair trial, you're guilty. But I'm sure that a bleeding heart Republican like you is fully aware of how many innocent people are rotting away in Florida's jails. You'll just be one more, pal.

6. Fate apparently was kind to him, not allowing his bill to be ennacted BEFORE he was arrested!

The proposed bill addressed "unnatural and lascivious acts or exposure or exhibition of sexual organs" within 1,000 feet of a park, school or child care facility.

Isn't this sad? Republican justice circumvented just when they needed it most.

He says the guy looked scary because he was _black_. Then he says he felt he had to blow him since he was so scary.

Yeah, we're dealing with a man who's natural instinct is to blow people that scare him.
