Mascotte Mayor Arrested On Molestation Charges

Mascotte's mayor is under arrest and facing charges of molesting children.

Jeff Krull was taken into custody Monday night on six counts of lewd and lascivious molestation and one count of showing lewd and lascivious material to a minor.

Investigators said they've been looking into allegations from three alleged victims.

Police aren't releasing their ages, but said the children came over to the mayor's home to use his computer.

Mascotte mayor arrested on molestation charges

MASCOTTE, Fla. - The mayor of this small, central Florida city was arrested Monday on molestation charges, authorities said.

Mayor Jeff Krull, 66, was charged with six counts of lewd and lascivious molestation and one count of showing lewd and lascivious material to a minor, police Chief Steve Allen said.

Authorities said the alleged victims visited the mayor's home to use his computer. It's believed there were at least three victims, but Allen said an investigation could reveal more.

The mayor was taken to a hospital after his arrest because he complained of chest discomfort. Once released, he will be transported to Lake County jail on $65,000 bond, Allen said.

Krull's fiance, Barbara Tillman, told The Associated Press that Krull, who has children and grandchildren, is thought of as a "grandfather figure" in their community.

Although, even having watched the thing happen time and time and time and time and TIME AGAIN, the one aspect that still amazes me is how they do it with beetle-browed KGB Men with guns to the backs of people's heads to get that kind of uniformity.

He has also volunteered for the Boy Scouts of America. Mayor Krull is a member of the South Lake Chamber of Commerce. He currently volunteers as a reading tutor and as a member of the Cinco de Mayo Festival Planning Committee. Mayor Krull has lived
in Mascotte for four (4) years. He has four (4) grown children and six (6) grandchildren.

“When I first met with the Mayor I could immediately tell he was a man of his community. He made me answer the tough questions and wanted to make sure that I would be committed to the people of Mascotte. I am honored to have his support and will not let him down”, said Pruitt.
