Crocker to Turkey: Stay Out of Iraq
Source: TIME

U.S. ambassador in Baghdad Ryan Crocker is urging Turkey to demonstrate "strategic patience" over recent attacks by Kurdish fighters inside Iraq, warning that a cross-border Turkish military strike is exactly what the PKK rebels are trying to provoke. Such an action, he told TIME in an interview on the eve of Friday's meeting in Turkey between Iraq and its neighbors, would be "highly destabilizing" in Iraq, and would not necessarily achieve the results desired by Turkey.

Crocker also cited progress in reconciling Iraq's Sunni and Shi'ite communities during the two months since he and General David Petraeus reported to Congress. Despite recent Bush Administration saber-rattling on Iran, Crocker also said that he expects to hold another round of talks with Iranian officials about mutual concerns in Iraq. He credits the U.S. troop surge for some of the success in driving Osama bin Laden's followers from Anbar province, but admits, "al-Qaeda is not defeated."

5. The "firm grasp of the obvious" award goes to......
Ryan Crocker! "Such an action, he told TIME in an interview on the eve of Friday's meeting in Turkey between Iraq and its neighbors, would be "highly destabilizing" in Iraq, and would not necessarily achieve the results desired by Turkey".

Gee, 'ya think? :wtf: You want to know what's REALLY "highly destabilizing"? A fucking country invading your homeland without a HINT OF A FUCKING PLAN about how to GET THE FUCK OUT OF THERE! The U.S. invasion of Iraq was MUCH MORE than "highly destabilizing". It was, and remains, a FUCKING DISASTER!

So yeah, Turkey. Don't invade Iraq and destabilize what's already so freaking destabilized it'll never return to any semblance of normality. George Bush beat you to it. Now THERE'S a fucking guy that knows about destabilization. The most unstable mother-fucker on the planet and HE'S telling YOU not to "destabilize" Iraq. I repeat. :wtf:

6. Me to Ryan Crocker: Let's Get the Hell out of Iraq, e-mail your boss!
You know you don't want to be there anyway Ryan! Nobody with the I.Q. of a jello mold thinks were doing any good there, and none of your co-workers are lining up to spend some time in the sun and fun there in IRAQ. I know it's your job to "strategically speak informationally questionable data" but.... come on!!!

Asking another county to "have patience" don't invade it would be "hightly destabliizing."

I mean really, how do you people keep a straight face anymore:spray:

"We hold a common view about taking up all problems together and creating solutions for them," Babacan said.

Rice said the U.S. was looking at enhancing its intelligence and information sharing with Turkey and that she had begun talking with the Turkish leaders about longer term solutions.

"The United States is committed to redoubling its efforts, because we need a comprehensive approach to this problem..." she said. "No one should doubt the United States in this situation."

.............

"We want to look to a plan for effective action against the PKK that will require not just the U.S. and Turkey but also the Iraqi government," Rice said.
